Corydimbiddle stabs the gauntlet and empowers his allies (MW bonus to Dem and Edeya) before shifting away.

The right gauntlet rights itself up, flicking it's fingers as if to dust off the dirt. It points at Edeya angrily, just before jabbing her in gut for 6 damage and drawing blood.

The left gauntlet shakes an impotent fist at Corydimbiddle, but then turns it's attention towards Azad. It makes a bowing gesture in honor at the paladin, to then punch her right where there's an open wound. Attacking a bloodied spot seems to augment the pain that Azad feels for 8 damage. The gauntlet begins whirling a finger in circles triumphantly and suddenly jerks all five fingers in different directions as Harkin's lingering lightning shocks it.

OOC: Wow! Every PC and enemy is bloodied. I must be doing my job right. ;) Eveyone except Cory can go out of order to help wrap this battle up more quickly. The reason Cory isn't included is that the MW boni might get confusing.

Edeya's whirlwind attack misses one, but totally smashes the other gauntlet which falls lifeless to the floor. Azad seizes the opportunity and strikes the remaining gauntlet a radiant blow, also dropping it lifeless. Seconds later, a necrotic looking hand crawls out of each gauntlet and sways around a bit before Demuriath stomps on each of them. The gauntlets curiously appear no worse for the wear from your combined attacks, aside from the blood veins embedded within.

OOC: Great finish! The party gains 1500 xp. Experience Point Group Total: 18040 (11/18/10) - need 18750 to reach level 4. You've reached another milestone and I've already added an action point to each of you. FYI, only three encounters left in the adventure, so feel free to use those points.

In taking a close look at the gauntlets, Demuriath picks them up and is surprised to note that there's no remaining flesh or blood or even damage on the metal. On instinct, sensing that they may prove useful, he puts them on and immediately feels an urge to strike out at all his companions whose blood is flowing freely from multiple wounds.

The sensation passes quickly however, but the revenant assassin senses that these gauntlets will help him inflict additional pain on those that are already suffering.

OOC: Guantlets of Blood, level 4 item, inflict 2 extra damage on bloodied targets. This was on Jon's wishlist.

Demuriath puts on the gauntlets. Immediately, he feels an even more intense than usual desire to kill, kill often, and kill quickly. He glances down at the sharp edge of his sword and, for the first time since his death, smiles, then slips back into the shadows at the edge of the room.

Edeya notices her brother reaction to putting on the gauntlets and cringes. She thinks to herself "Ugh, he is so deranged," and begins to worry about his stability. She moves away from Demuriath and searches the room for anything else interesting.

Then she returns to the group and asks the gnome for an infusion.

OOC: Josh, can you figure out surge donations and infusions for the group?

OOC: I took two surges from Azad to give me back the infusions used. Then 1 from each to heal to the current status. Corydimbiddle can get exactly to full with 1 more Infusion surge, and I took that from Harkin. Everyone can get to full with 1 more Infusion Surge used. If anyone else wants to use a surge to get to full they can. Azad can get 15 HP from a surge, the rest can get 14 HP.

While Corydimbiddle administers his healing solutions, Edeya searches the area. By the rotten remains of beds and a cupboard in the southeastern room, she guesses it must have been some sort of sleeping chamber. She also sees a chest inlaid with the dragon symbol of Bahamut, amid the decayed clothes that are children's sizes.

Opening the chest, she finds a small gold medallion with the name "Drystan Keegan" etched into it and also finds a thin platinum bracelet with the name "Ceinwein Keegan" inscribed. Both appear of good, valuable quality, and have strangely not tarnished in the slightest, but Edeya isn't able to determine more than that. Also among the items lies a wooden toy sword, a child's doll, and a hairbrush.

Thinking Corydimbiddle might know more, she shows the medallion and necklace to the artificer. He immediately takes a keen interest with his devices and easily identifes the medallion as a life-giving amulet. After examining the platinum bracelet, he decides it is merely of very high quality, but not magical and estimates it's worth around 300 gp.

Not particularly interested in keeping the small items for herself, Edeya recalls Sir Keegan's curse. "I think we should take care of Kalarel now, but before we exit, we should show these things to Keegan. They may provide some solace to him."

Harkin is itching to get out of the dungeon, starting to feel claustrophobic.

In agreement and after resting a little longer, you head back towards the room with all the nefarious traps. You approach the door by the water cherubs and those of you with keen senses again smell a strong odor of death and decay coming from past the door. Shrugging her shoulder, Edeya opens the door and the group heads in.

It's immediately clear what is causing the terrible smell. About a dozen zombies are milling around. They appear to be more of the same that you've encountered before, most of them about to fall apart and only two of them a little more stable. Aside from these abominations, you also see two new creatures. A ghastly-looking being at the bottom of the stairs by the doors to another area and some sort of creature made of clay shambling about.

The room itself is filthy with rot and dried blood. Aside from the other doors, there's a very narrow crawlspace heading who knows where on the western side. All of the zombies slowly turn around to face you, hunger visible in their deathly sockets. The ghastly being snarls and dribbles, but remains where it is.

OOC: No special features aside from the stairs being difficult terrain when going up them in the direction of the arrow.

Edeya scans the room and tries to think if she's heard about these creatures before. Not really coming up with anything helpful, she decides to wait for Corydimbiddle to make his move.

OOC: Since we're all next to the artificer and the enemies are far away, I'll delay until after Corydimbiddle and hopefully get a magic weapon bonus.
