Harkin conjures some lightning against the remaining cadaver and blinks in surprise as it does even more damage than he expected, bloodying the thing (12 total damage, you forgot the MW bonus). The lingering static is sure to inflict additional harm on the undead creature.

OOC: Demuriath will inflict 3d6 damage on a miss and 4d6 plus his attack on a hit, so he can hopefully finish that thing.

Edeya throws a shuriken that does some damage thanks to Corydimbiddle's magic, despite her weakened state (9/2=4 damage to red). The throw is enough to loosen the monk's muscles and dissipate the weakness.

Corydimbiddle's dagger fails to penetrate the cadaverous flesh. The creature turns to Azad and slams into her for 6 damage. It takes some residual lightning scarring from Harkin's spell, but immediately regenerates.

The two gauntlets swing around in the air where they are, fists clenching and unclenching, almost as if they were holding an imaginary weapon. Both of them end up hovering at the ready.

Azad heals herself with Sehanine's grace, then strikes the cadaver with a mighty, final blow and weakening it at the last. As with the other, it's flesh begins undulating with pustules that then explode outward. Azad is fortuitous enough to escape harm this time.

Harkin blasts the left-handed gauntlet with some lightning, leaving crackling traces of static. The gauntlet shakes a bit at the impact and then points a finger angrily at the dwarf. A moment later it shakes its fist at him as well, as if telling him that he should not have done that.

Edeya takes a moment to recover and look at the situation in an attempt to aid Corydimbiddle with his analysis. Although she really doesn't know of what nature the gauntlets are, she can see that there looks to be blood weaving throughout their metal. Now that she's taking a closer look and trying to remember what she can, it strikes her that the metal and coloration of the gauntlets looks identical to the metal plate armor that Sir Keegan was wearing in his crypt. They also seem about the right size to fit a human hand. Not having any knowledge of things magical, she cannot discern any more.

OOC: I wasn't sure which skill you wanted to aid, so I took perception and history to give you info and arcana was too low for aid or anything else. Thank you for rolling some knowledge checks.

With his combined knowledge of things natural and things arcane, Corydimbiddle understands that the gauntlets are magical metallic constructs. He discerns both a natural life and and undead life within them. The undead life likely is contained within the gauntlets and is what's animating them. The natural life appears to be coursing like veins of blood through the metal. Despite this interesting combination, the artificer does not believe these gauntlets have any sort of sentience to them. Rather, the blood coursing within looks to be an augmentation to it's power under certain conditions.

He does recall reading about such gauntlets in some tome or other. Something about "...items of armor, both magical and mundane, can be used by undead flesh just as a hermit crab uses the shell...". Thinking on that tome, he recalls that these gauntlets are probably well armored, highly mobile and able to shift between foes given their tiny size, able to resist both poisons and deathly substances, and not likely to be affected by divine influence as the undead flesh within is completely covered. He surmises that they must not be very intelligent or strong-willed though. On a whim, hoping he may be the first researcher to discover this type of animate, he decides to call them "Crawling Gauntlets" and refer to that name in any papers or books he might write.

Deciding to kill whatever is possessing these gauntlets, Corydimbiddle throws a magically imbued dagger that just manages to penetrate the metallic surface and strike the flesh within. Azad and Demuriath feel more confident at the sight (MW bonus to Azad and Demuriath).

The injured left gauntlet smashes its fist into the nearby wall a few times in anger and begins pointing, then flapping, then making a circling motion with one finger towards its right gauntlet counterpart. The right gauntlet droops its five fingers, as if in resignation, then flaps up and down in a nodding gesture. It then shifts forward and around Demuriath, getting ready, while the left gauntlet shifts forward and around Azad. Flanking the gnome, both strike simultaneously hitting Cordydimbiddle hard for 19 total damage.
