OOC: I'll take my turn in a bit, but is there any preference on who I heal? Again, everyone will get 15 HP to start, and then I can heal someone surge+2d6+5 or surge+5+saving throw. Also, Fearless Resue will be readied in case any attack drops someone. I am not sure how dazed affects it all, since they would have to do it after this turn anyways (or is it until the end of the demon's next turn?) in which case I can heal someone.

Hedoni could probably use it the most. He hopefully won't be dazed again, but I don't imagine I'm likely to survive the next attack otherwise...

OOC: Mal's WoA attack roll hits.

The air once again fills with fumes of poison and fire, and Daggoth, Mal, and especially Ravenblade all choke on them. Daggoth and Mal each take 14 damage, Ravenblade is critted for 17 damage, and they will each take another 5 fire and 5 poison damage for each attack they make (Infernal Toxins, save ends).

Zoldathra then tries to bite at Daggoth, but his thick armor protects him from her fangs.

Finally, the devil turns her attention to Mal.

"Impudent tiefling! Serve me as your ancestors once did!" Her words overwhelm his will, and Mal is dominated until the end of Zoldathra's next turn.

"Ugnnnn!!!!" cries Ravenblade in pain.

OOC: Firstly, did Zoldathra stand up from prone during it's turn or attack from lying down and is still lying down? I think Rav is back down to 12 hp only after Mal's and Zold's turns. Since Mal is now dominated, does that mean he can't use Fearless Rescue if one of us drops? Also, now that Daggoth and Hedoni are not dazed anymore at the end of Zold's turn, mayb both of you should heal Mal and Ravenblade (Mal is at 28 right now, but will automatically take 10 damage at the start of his dominated turn for standing. I can have Ravenblade charge attack, use two minor for another healing potion to negate the toxin damage, and then maybe action point Hit and Run to attack again and move away near Hedoni who was out of range for Zold's last burst attack by the description. Thoughts?

OOC: Zoldathra is still prone. However, her attacks that hit all were 18's or higher on the d20, so she when she hit, she hit easily.

Mal cannot use any other powers like Fearless Rescue while dominated.

OOC: I just posted some thoughts in the strategy thread. I agree we should hit with at-wills right now, which is why I'm considering a charge and action point hit an run. However Mal might not make it if we don't bolster his health a little. We can discuss more in the strat thread.

Hedoni, feeling almost normal, takes a moment to return the healing favor to the now-dominated Mal, then takes aim at Zoldathra with a chilly ray of frost. Seeing that his attack may not hit, he tries again

Minor Action: Healing Word on Mal
Standard Action: Attack Zoldathra with Ray of Frost.
Action Point: Attack Zoldathra with Ray of Frost.

Ray of Frost (with WoA bonus): (1d20+11+4+1=23, 1d6+9+4=19)
Ray of Frost (Action Point with WoA bonus): (1d20+11+4+1-2=21, 1d6+9+4=16)

Healing word heals surge+2d6HP on Mal. Ray of Frost (Standard) hits Fort 21 (forgot to -2 for prone) for 19 cold damage, and Ray of Frost (Action Point) hits Fort 21 for 16 cold damage. If hit, Zoldathra is slowed until the end of my next turn.

"Mal? Hmmm...not good. Hedoni, Mal seems to be under her sway. He likely won't be able to help himself and do something foolish. Can you help him with some healing? For that matter, I could also use some extra health too, but Mal needs it more."

OOC: Seeing Emily's update just now and that Mal is infected with toxins means he will die during his turn. He'll take 10 damage for standing in the aura and 10 damage if he attacks one of us, putting him at -2. Mal needs to be healed I think. I can have Rav do his potion drinking again to keep him at 10 hp if I attack twice.

Edit: Looks like you had the same notion.

Feeling a ray of frost pass him by, Ravenblade looks towards Hedoni.

OOC: I maybe shouldn't mention this, but since Zold is prone and ray of frost is a ranged attack, is Hedoni's attack at -2 to hit? Maybe Mike already included that and maybe it makes no difference since Mal's item ascertained that reflex and fort are the lowest defenses. Mike, are you sure you don't want to use an action point this round for another at-will attack, given our bonuses. Zold became blooded 167 hp, so she has at most 334 hp. If Hedoni, Daggoth, and Rav all attack twice this round, we might be able to kill her with some luck and all heal 8 hp in the process.

I can use an AP, and I didn't subtract 2 for prone. I haven't been keeping close attention, but I don't think Fort 21 will hit. I'll go do that.

"Bearded bastard!?! Ha! I suppose I deserve that coming from a scaly, hairless beast! But Daggoth, why are you lying down on the job again!?" jokes Ravenblade in return. Odd as it may seem at a time like this, the ranger muses that he has learned a lot from Daggoth in the past months. About how to be more easygoing amongst crowds and in towns as well as how to fight efficiently, even if it means doing so so in a down and dirty manner.

OOC: I will wait to post until after Emily updates, but I also want to suggest to Marek if you maybe don't want to use an action point to attack again with a basic or at-will, since we have the bonuses from Mal. I think Zold only has about 20 hp left after Hedoni's second and your first attack.

Edit: I'll take Rav's turn now anyhow. All or nothing.

"Hmmmm.....time to save our cub or die trying." Ravenblade ponders, while trying not to think about the excruciating pain he is about to endure for his actions. He tenses his legs in a slight crouch, ready to charge.

"For Elsir!!!!" he shouts, rushing forward. It only takes mere seconds to reach the beast and slam her hard like an avalanche, but time seems to stop for him. He thinks back to that fateful day when he met Mal and Daggoth. Through Mal, he also then met his cousin Salazar, the reason they are here now. His thoughts drift to Kyra and his repressed feelings for her...his concern. A moment later, he recalls his times with Durendal, the good as well as the bad.

Crushing more bones of this evil creature, Ravenblade lashes out twice more, ignoring the deadly toxins in his blood. He wonders if he has yet done enough for redemption. He invariably thinks of the little girl again...her surprised look...her condemning eyes. His thoughts go back to the gith monastery and their failure...his failure to rescue the three children. He winches slightly at recalling their new group name..."Executioners of Red Rock". As his third strike bashes what is likely a dead devil by now, he sighs, and decides he still has a way to go before being able to hold his head up without shame.

OOC: Drop prone, stand up, HQ on Zold. I got my craghammers jumbled, so the charge to E4 with avalanche craghammer is 28 vs AC for 24 damage (23 +1 for HQ). ACTION POINT twin strike. 1st twin strike is 30 vs AC for 20 damage (forgot to include WS bonus in damage). 2nd twin strike is 27 vs AC for 13 damage. That's 57 total damage. Saved versus toxins.

At the start of Rav's turn he has 37 hp thanks to Daggoth's healing. Charge attack causes 10 toxin damage (27), action point heals 8 hp (35), and twin strike attacks cause 20 more toxin damage, leaving him at 15 hp after this turn. Side note: I think in this battle Rav has done the most damage out of all his battle so far, 189 damage with 7 attacks in 4 rounds. This battle could have gone very differently had we missed a lot more.

Still on the ground, Daggoth slashes at the devil's tail. He then bullies encourages Ravenblade to keep on going.

After a moment of contemplation, Ravenblade summons all his strength and charges at Zoldathra. His first swing with his craghammer connects with a solid crunch and the devil is defeated.

The group gains 1500 experience
