No problem. I've already made tokens for Lan, Kurvilis, and Khavak. Once there's a picture for Nathan's warforged, I'll do that one too and email them all to you. I also created a token for Lan's daily power "Wormhole Plunge" since it stays in battle for one round and has an ongoing effect.

Stealth and CA does work like that, I believe.

Khav actually will NOT be trained in Stealth at 1st level. He'll get that when he takes the assassin multi-class feat at level 2, though. :)

Yeah, I saw your level 6 mock-up of Khav and he had 12 stealth. I REALLY wanted stealth for Lan, but he has some issues with assassins (should be fun) and since Kalashtar have a mortal, racial enemy, the avenger multiclass was more appropriate.

Story-wise, he's a bounty hunter, but fighter|rogue (assassin) is a nice reflection of those skills. :)

I have just about everything from everyone (Gary is getting his stuff to me today), so I thought we could discuss the game a little.

Gary reminded me about the free expertise feat, and make sure you have that on you character sheets. I think I still need stat blocks, as well, and Nathan needs to get his character image to me and Viktor, so that he can make character tokens. Also, I will have the rule 1/3/1 ruls, where if you post within a day, you get +1 to d20 rolls; if you don't post within 3 days, Gary or I will take your turn; if you miss a turn (3 days) and have not checked in since, you have one day to take your turn. Also, I may try and give hints about the Big, Bad Evil Guy fights each day so that you make sure you can use your dailies (it will probably be "in story" hints).

I am not very familiar with Psionics, Hybrids, Assassins, Swordmages, or Illusionist wizards (I don't think we have had any on the board except for psionics in the delves, so I am learning a bit about them, and they aren't in PHB1, PHB2, or Eberron, so I don't have the books for them). So, it will take me, maybe, longer than normal to really figure out the group. As such, it will be REALLY helpful for you guys to spell out your attack and damage bonuses and anything else special about the classes that you are using.

If all goes well, I can start this thing on Friday or Saturday.

Josh, psionics and hybrids are debut content from PHB3, and assassin's are DDI-only. NO ONE has books on them at this point. ;)

Out of non-PHB1, PHB2, and the Eberron books, I have only read the things that are necessary for me.

Gary, I got your stuff. So...stat blocks?

Here's Khav's stat block.

Since I can only do the combat challenge / marking thing with Fighter powers and I can only sneak attack with Rogue powers, I'm noting powers with (F) or (R) if they come from one of those classes. Powers with no letter are racial, item, etc. powers.

Oh, just remembered. His languages are listed in the PDF and CB file as Common, Giant, and Goblin. I houseruled in Goblin, since half-orcs in Eberron know Common and Goblin, instead of Giant. I can't make the CB ignore that he would normally get Giant, though, so that's stuck on there.

  •  Khavak'aashta
    • Male Half-Orc Fighter|Rogue 1
    • Passive Perception: 15, Passive Insight: 10, Senses: Low-Light Vision
    • AC: 17, Fort: 15, Reflex: 16, Will: 10 - Speed: 6
    • HP: 26/26, Bloodied: 13, Surge Value: 6, Surges left: 8/8
    • Action Points: 1
    • Resists: None.

    • Half-Orc Resiliance (Race): Gain 5 temp HP first time bloodied in an encounter.
    • Swift Charge (Race): +2 speed when charging.
    • Combat Challenge (Hybrid) (Class): Mark targets you attack with Fighter powers and gain Combat Challenge.
    • Sneak Attack (Hybrid) (Class): When using Rogue powers, deal 2d6 bonus damage with combat advantage.

    • Powers
    • -Combat Challenge (F)
    • -Disheartening Strike (R)
    • -Dual Strike (F)
    • -Distracting Spate (F)
    • -Furious Assault
    • -Second Wind
    • -Pommel Smash (R)

    • Items
    • -None yet.

    •  AC:14, Fort:11, Reflex:14, Will:16 - Speed:5
    •  HP:22/22, Bloodied:11, Surge Value:5, Surges left:7/7
    •  Action Points: 1
    •  +5 saves vs. illusion
    •
    •  Powers
    •  Light/Mage Hand/Ghost Sound/Prestidigitation

Cool, looks good. I saw that, Gary, and I figured it out. Does Forgotten Realms have the same problems with languages or is it just Eberron?

Thanks for noting Fighter vs. Rogue powers.

Thanks, Jonathan, for differentiating your dailies.

This is going to be a group with a lot of variety, I think. We have a hybrid, three people multiclassing (once Gary hits level 2), a Wizard, and a psionic (with augments). It seems this group will be fairly versatile.

I have a gameflow question. My ardent has an encounter power called "Ardent Alacrity". When he's bloodied, as a free action, I can use this power and all allies in burst 5 can either shift 1 space or move half their speed.

If we were playing in person it would be easy and fast to use this power, but how do you think we should handle this power on play by post?

Should I decide if and how every ally moves? Should each player comment by post if and how their player moves? Should I decide initially and each player has a veto right? Should I start a brief discussion about the power and movement in a strategy thread prior to using it?

As you can see, it may be tricky. The only other time I recall we had such situations was with Gary's bard in the first delve. As DM at the time, I thought it might be easiest to just have Gary make all the movement decisions to not interrupt gameflow excessively by lots of discussion every time the power is used. Thoughts?

For flow purposes, it might be easier if you decide on the moves. If one of us would prefer somewhere else, we can respond as such?

I have one other question. Josh, as a racial feature of gnomes, Kurvilis can make a stealth check to become hidden as a free action if he has cover or concealment when he rolls initiative. He will use this any time he can, and it is probably easier if you just roll it each time. Do allies provide cover to a small wizard in the back?

Viktor, for those kinds of movements with Mal, I generally choose the location (although if I don't have a good one in mind, I ask if anyone wants to use the movement). I think that it is best for you to decide the movement on your turn, with each person getting some veto power. It is also weird in that it says that it is "No Action" but has a trigger of "You are bloodied by an attack" which makes it sound like an Immediate Reaction. So, the movement REALLY occurs during the monsters turn. That will be a little tricky, as I will have to wait for you to make movements.

Let's call it an Immediate Reaction then. I think giving the rest of the party the option to take the movement at the start of their turn IF no monsters go between the Alacrity use and them would be ok. And if someone REALLY wants to be moved somewhere else, they can chime in quickly (thankfully that wouldn't take the time of a full post).

Gary, do you know what to do about stealth in this case?
