"Let's finish this!" says Alysandra with determination as she steps back and prepares to impale the the prone scourge with a running start (shift to C3, then charge to E5).

"Raaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" As her vanguard longword strikes down in a graceful arc, it gleams with rays of encouraging light for her comrades (activating vanguard sword daily power prior to charge).

"Sune. Protect those around me that I care for." Taking a quick breath to steady herself, the paladin then sends a prayer to her goddess. She raises her longsword skyward again and a halo of light appears around the tip. It decends slowly, growing as it moves, quickly enveloping the paladin and bathing her in a reddish-white nimbus. "Ahhhhh! moans Alysandra contentedly in the loving embrace of Sune. With a sudden downward swing of her arm and snapping open of her eyes, now glowing crimson, she slices into the prone scourge yet again.

1d20+12+1+1+2=22, 2d8+6=18 Vanguard Charge against scourge, preparing weapon daily first.

ACTION POINT: 1d20+12+1+2=27, 3d8+6=20 Majestic Halo against scourge

OOC: Alys moves to C3, minor action use vanguard weapon daily, standard action charge scourge to E5 hitting 22 vs AC for 18 damage. If this hits, all allies in burst 10 get +1 to hit and +5 damage to ALL attacks until start of Alysandra's next turn (vanguard weapon daily).

Action point to use majestic halo against scourge, hitting 27 vs AC for 20 radiant damage (10 damage on a miss). On a hit or miss, UNTIL THE END OF THE ENCOUNTER, any enemy starting it's turn adjacent to Alysandra is subject to divine sanction mark (-3 to attack others, 8 radiant damage if they do) until the end of it's turn.

"Follow my lead! Strike them hard repeatedly! Now!" bellows Alysandra in a commanding voice.

OOC: This is the last battle of the delve, so everyone should use an action point. Also, if majestic halo hit, then everyone gets +1 to hit and +5 damage for every attack, so you might want to use your action point this turn.

Alysandra moves into the room and charges at the scourge, her sword guiding everyone's attacks as she hits (18 damage to Purple, +1 to attack and +5 to damage for allies attacks until the start of Alysandra's turn). The paladin then calls up her reserves and smites the scourge again, making the gnoll focus on her or pay the price (20 damage, DS on Purple).

OOC: OK guys; I'm going to regret this.

Bolstered by Alysandra's brave charge, Thaelan momentarily forgets his role in the party, and he strides forward calling upon his most vicious spirit companions. Placing himself before the well, he glances down before his spirits answer the call.

Suddenly, a primal screech resounds about the room as dozens of meerkats swarm the area. Surveying the carnage, Thaelan calls upon his inner reserves to yet again summon his earthworm companions, who lash out at a huntmaster as his stalwart butterfly companion materializes in the thick of his enemies.

"Mutts, I will send you to meet your demonic masters!"

Mechanics:
move: move to D5
standard: Spirit of the healing flood: wis vs fort. everyone is in the burst
Action Point!
standard: Twin Panthers upon green huntmaster (see note)
free: summon SC to G6
free: skill check looking into the well

Spring renewal strike gives all allies in burst (everyone) regeneration 2 when bloodied. You can spend a minor action to dismiss your regeneration and gain 10 HP. I will attack the green huntmaster with twin panthers once. On a hit, I will attack the prone purple demonic scourge; it's a ranged attack but not melee. I don't think I take a penalty. Otherwise, I will attack the huntmaster twice. On a miss, the second attack is against the huntmaster again. On a hit, people get CA for melee attacks upon enemies adjacent to my SC until the end of my next turn.

If I see something interesting in the pit, Josh I'm going to burn speak with spirits as a minor action and use a skill point to figure out what it is. Otherwise; I'm chugging a potion of clarity.

Naturally, if there is an enemy in the pit that's in range, the burst attack will attack him as well.

Thaelan valiantly moves into the fray, calling forth his meerkats to nibble at the gnolls. The little critters swarming over the demon worshippers helps to bolster the dwarf's companions for the rest of the fight (12 damage to all of the gnolls, regen 2 when bloodied to Thaelan and allies). Thaelan then summons his butterfly spirit and and a couple of earth worms, which attack the scourge and nearest huntmaster (13 damage to Green, 1+11=12 damage to Purple). Thaelan then strains to see whatever is in the well, but all he can do is hear something unnatural.

The huntmaster across the room can't seem to aim right and almost hits the beast coming up from the well.

A grell appears from the well! The aberration is floating in the air above the well when its tentacles lash out at the paladin and succeed in grabbing her. They pull her in, but Alysandra is able to resist enough to avoid the bite (9 damage to Alysandra, Alysandra is grabbed).

Grabbed Condition: You are immobilized until the grab is ended. If the grabber is affected by a condition that prevents OAs, the grab ends. If you are able to move out of the creature's reach, the grab ends. You can use a move action to try to escape with an Acrobatics check vs. Reflex or an Athletics check vs. Fortitude. If you succeed, the grab ends and you can shift 1 sq.

Alysandra stares in horror as the grell appears. She then grunts in pain as it's tentacles wrap around her. "Ugnnnn....can't escape. Foget about me!..." she yells at her companions, "That scourge is still lying on the floor. Kill it while you can!" she finishes with valiant words.

OOC: Alysandra has -3 acrobatics and -2 athlethics so she will not likely escape the grab. I don't even plan on trying. Can a PC take other actions as normal while grabbed, such as attacks, minors, etc? Is it possible to attack other enemies or only the one grabbed. Regardless, unless someone has an attack that will prevent the grell from being able to make OA's (which would cause it to instantly drop Alysandra, I suggest finishing off the scourge instead.

OOC: Since being grabbed makes one immobilized, I should be able to take my turn as usual maybe. Also, being immobilized means Alysandra can be FORCED to move by push, pull, slide attacks OR teleported away. I don't know if these are options for any of the other players, but something to think about. Her fort (15) and reflex (16) are her lowest defenses.

OOC: Shoot. Can someone with access to the ebberon campaign book take a look at mark of healing, please? I think that any healing power I use on Alysandra gives her a saving throw, but I'm not positive it would apply to being held like that. At the very least, it might be able to grant more options to get free.

OOC: Yeah, you can take other actions as normal. I would say that you can attack what you are grabbed by with no penalty, but if you wanted to attack another creature, it would be -2 to attack and provoke an OA (it doesn't say in the PHB anything about this I can find...maybe Gary knows?). If the grell is dazed or stunned or something of that nature, it will let go. Alysandra can be pushed, pulled, slid, or teleported away, as well.

Being grabbed is not a save ends condition.

Thranduin sends a burst of arrows at the grell and scourge, then moves a few feet and fires an arrow that lodges in the grell's... well, who can tell what that organ is? In any case, it's enough to daze the aberration and cause it to lose its hold on Alysandra. The elf then swiftly moves around to help distract the enemies from his allies.

Standard action - Storm of Spirit Shards centered on F6, targeting Scourge and Grell.

IC down... 1d20 + 10 + 1 (24H) +1 (Alysandra) to hit, 1d12+2d6+5+5 (Alysandra bonus) damage, and an extra 1d6 damage to the Scourge from Hunter's Quarry. Rolled by Josh and shared over IM.

Hits AC 14 for 23 damage and 2 quarry damage against the Scourge (25 total damage), and hits AC 23 for 23 damage against the Grell. Half damage on a miss.

Move action - Move to E3.

ACTION POINT!

Standard action - Escaping Shot against Grell, does not provoke OA from target.

IC down... 1d20 + 10 + 1 (24H) +1 (Alysandra) to hit, 1d12+5+5 (Alysandra bonus) psychic damage. Rolled by Josh and shared over IM.

Hits Will 17 for 20 psychic damage and on a hit the target is dazed until the end of your next turn. Hit or miss, Thranduin shifts to F6 after the attack.

I'll use my Deathcut Armor daily if someone hits me with a melee attack. Immediate Reaction. You can use this power when an enemy hits you with a melee attack. Deal 1d10 + Charisma modifier (+1) necrotic damage to that enemy.

Thranduin steps into the room, ready to stop the scourge and get the grell to drop Alysandra. First, the seeker fires a group of arrows that don't directly hit the scourge and just miss the scourge because the paladin is in the way (both miss, 12 damage to scourge, 11 damage to grell). Then Thranduin fires an arrow that smacks into the grell, causing it to drop the paladin and allowing Thranduin to move into the room farther (20 damage to grell, grell is dazed, drops Alysandra).

Catching his shuriken as it returns, Korg quickly exchanges it for his dagger and advances on the bloodied scourge, jabbing quickly, and letting the needle sharp point of his dagger do its work

OOC: Yes, you CAN do several things. You could use minor actions, you could charge green huntmaster, and you could even use an action point to take another standard action. Remember, all your attacks get +1 to hit and +5 damage this round due to Alysandra's bonus from her turn.

OOC: This is Josh again, since I don't have my character sheet in front of me can I just tell you (Josh) what I would like to do and you can make my rolls for me? If so I will stand up, use a minor action to use my form of the fearsome ram and then use my standard action attack of the form of the fearsome ram, shifting to square F5. If I hit i do Two weapon plus modifier damage, knock it prone and push it 3 squares (I will choose not to push it). While in this form I get plus 2 bonus to speed and to attack, also if I miss I do half damage. thanks!

Jauthak stands up and calls upon his guardian form. He then moves towards the floating grell and swings his mighty sword at it, knocking it down, into the well (Form of Fearsome Ram (+12 W, +1 Aly's bonus) (1d20+13=23, 2d10+7+5=30)).

One of the gnolls steps back. The huntmasters then, both, aim at the seeker and are able to pierce his armor (14 damage to Thranduin by Green; 11 damage to Thranduin by Red).

OOC: I think I did Jauthak's rolls correctly. Regardless, knocking it prone made it fall into the well, which is completely dark at the moment, so it has total concealment. Oh, and I forgot to have Gary roll an Acrobatics check to not fall prone in the pool of water.

OOC: Thranduin has a +11 to Acrobatics, and a natural 1 is not an automatic failure on skill checks, only on attacks, so there's no chance of Thranduin slipping.

I could claim that's what I didn't mention it in my post, but, actually, I forgot. ;)

Alysandra once more raises her sword high and closes her eyes. She then quickly lowers her sword and kisses the blade. As her lips touch steel, a radiant white glow emanates from her weapon. Having bestowed the blessing of Sune upon her longsword (minor), the paladin moves over to the nearest huntmaster (H6) and smites it with her valor. Seeing it's companion skewered, the next nearest huntmaster can't help but feel challenged by the paladin.

Minor action: use Bless Weapon utility (+1 to hit, +1d6 radiant damage on a hit, crit 18-20 against enemies vulnerable to radiant) lasts until end of the encounter

Valorous Smite green gnoll huntmaster (base 12, +1 24h, +1 bless weapon, +2 since it is granting CA, +1d6 radiant bless weapon damage on a hit) (1d20+12+1+1+2=27, 2d8+6=12, 1d6=5)

OOC: Valorous Strike hist green 27 vs AC for total 17 damage (5 of which is radiant). On a hit, all enemies in burst three are subject to divine sanction (red huntmaster only). Also, if green is still alive, it is also subject to divine sanction due to majestic halo lingering effect. Marked enemies are at -3 to attack her allies and suffer 8 radiant damage on a hit.

OOC: Sorry, I messed up the location of Green on the last map. He should have been at H8. I moved Alysandra to H7 instead of H6 for this, and there was no CA, but Valorous Smite still hit.

The paladin imparts her sword with more power and then moves towards the bloodied huntmaster, cutting deep into its hide (17 damage to Green; Green and Red have DS on them).

Thaelan attempts to wipe out the bloodied gnoll with his butterfly, realizes the tongue lash of his butterfly spirit is going to miss badly, concentrates on altering it, and still misses. "D'oh!" he calls out as the tongue goes wide. The shaman then moves around the room and calls his spirit back to his comrades. The dwarf then calls to his ancestors and is able to get them to help out the seeker and the warden (heal Thranduin 13 HP and Jauthak 5 HP). Thaelan then shouts to his companions over the din of battle, "If you get a chance, throw a light down that well!"

The gnoll farthest from the action, fires an arrow at the seeker, eliminating all of the butterfly's hard work of fixing the elf (13 damage to Thranduin). No one can see the grell, but it is obviously still down there.
