Thranduin regains some health (2 HP recovered) and then fires an arrow at the bloodied huntmaster, piercing its eye and dropping it to the floor, dead (17 damage to Green, Green is dead). The seeker, having felt enough arrows hitting him, moves back behind the others and then is able to re-energize himself (10 HP recovered).

The blade shines in the light distracting the huntsmaster as Korg moves around the well and vaults at the combatant. The point of the blade sinks to the hilt in the huntsmasters belly.

Korg sees the huntmasters in the back getting shots off with no threat and tries to rectify that. He moves around the pool of water and then hops towards the gnoll, stabbing with his knife, nearly gutting the creature (23 damage to Yellow, Yellow is bloodied).

OOC: Jauthak's turn was taken with Gary's advice.

Jauthak moves up into the room (walk to H6) and bolsters himself (Stone's Endurance, resist 5 damage until end of next turn) and charges the nearest gnoll (charge to G9, attack Red). Jauthak hits the huntmaster hard (14 damage to red). Then he calls upon his energy reserves from the earlier battles (use Action Point) and swings at the huntmaster again (10 damage to Red, secondary attack close blast 3). The brutal strike pushes the gnoll back (pushed to D8) and explodes in a thunderous burst (Red takes 4 damage and pushed to B6; Crit on Yellow for 10 damage, pushed to B9).

Charge (+12 W, +1 charge, +2 Fearsome Ram) (1d20+15=34, 1d10+8=14)

Deciding on the direct approach, Alysandra moves and then charges the yellow huntmaster (charge to C10 after move south some), but misses.

OOC: Red huntmaster doesn't have divine sanction on it anymore and yellow will have it if it starts it's turn adjacent to Alysandra. This is due to ongoing effect of Majestic Halo.

Seeing his wounded comrade, Thaelan says "Thranduin, take the potion at my belt. You'll find swift recovery when grievously injured." The potion is a potion of regeneration.

OOC: Josh is either going to let you take it from me as a minor, or make some funky touch attack if you try and take it. Sort it out with him :) Since this'll burn your minors, I won't be offended if you don't take it.
Knowing that his comrades are far from out of the fire, Thaelan concentrates to send his spirit companion swirling across the battlefield, eventually settling near the rogue and paladin. The butterfly lashes out with it's tongue, harassing the gnoll. Finally, Thaelan reaches into his cloak and again pulls forth what appears to be a bone of one type or another.

The abnormally large butterfly disappears and then reappears on the other side of the room where its tongue pierces the skull of the gnoll, dropping it dead and bolstering Korg and Alysandra (9 damage to Yellow, Yellow is dead; Korg and Alysandra gain 4 temp HP). Thaelan then pulls out his totem.

The grell then reappears out of the well and grabs Korg with its tentacles (14 damage to Korg, Korg is grabbed). It pulls the rogue in for a bite, but only manages to get his armor. Finally, the grell rakes its tentacles across the rogue, causing the half-orc to bleed severely on his legs and arms (13 damage to Korg, Korg is slowed and has -2 to attack (save ends both)).

OOC: I figure that it is sort of like an opportunity attack to grab something from an ally's belt, and that ally is allowing it, so something like that. Maybe a Dex or Thievery check to make sure you grab the right thing, but no action required?

Thranduin moves in the fray, then calls upon primal spirits to knock the grell away and free Korg. The elf then sends a pair of arrows flying, hitting both the remaining gnoll and the grell. The gnoll falls dead, and the grell starts itching at itself with its tentacles.

Move action - Move to E8.

Minor action - Encaging Spirits, pushing the Grell to C6 and slowing it until my next turn. This breaks the hold on Korg.

Standard action - Stinging Swarm against Red Huntmaster.

Thranduin moves up in the room next to the grell and pushes it away from the rogue (Grell pushed 1 sq to C6 and slowed). Unfortunately, its tentacles are long and it continues to grab the half-orc. The seeker then fires a shot at the remaining gnoll, right through the heart. The insects from the arrow jump onto the grell, preventing it from concentrating on its attacks (19 damage to Red, Red is dead, Grell has -2 to attack).

OOC: Thranduin already used an AP this encounter here and the tentacles have a reach of 2, so it is still grabbing Korg.

Grabbed Condition: You are immobilized until the grab is ended. If the grabber is affected by a condition that prevents OAs, the grab ends. If you are able to move out of the creature's reach, the grab ends. You can use a move action to try to escape with an Acrobatics check vs. Reflex or an Athletics check vs. Fortitude. If you succeed, the grab ends and you can shift 1 sq.

OOC: I am going to move to D5 and use the daily power that comes with my flaming greatsword (which is also a free action to deal 1D6 fire damage to the grell with an ongoing 5 fire damage until it rolls a successful save. I am also going to use the at will free action to transfer all of the damage from my greatsword into fire damage. Then I will attack using my earthshield strike (plus 1 bonus to AC until end of next turn if i hit)

Jauthak moves towards the grell and takes a mighty hack at it with his flaming greatsword (converting all of the damage to fire damage).

Korg, still entangled in the tentacles tries to cut his way out, but doesn't quite manage to hit the grell. The half-orc tries to wiggle out, but the grell keeps a tight hold on the rogue. Seeing this is futile, Korg bolsters himself and is at least feeling better. Finally, he tries to get feeling in his arms and legs again, but cannot quite seem to (Saving throw (1d20=7)).

Jauthak sees there is only one enemy left and decides to take it down in cleansing fire. The warden walks around the well and cuts into the aberration (10 damage to Grell, Jauthak has +1 AC until end of next turn).

"Fear not Korg! I will take care of the Grell!" says Alysandra confidently as she moves away a bit, nearer to Thranduin (G10). She then points her longsword at the grell in divine challenge and wills it to come nearer (pull to F9 on a hit). Sadly, despite her glorious words, nothing happens, other than to get the grell's attention.

1d20+5+1=13, 1d20+12+2+1+1+2=19, 2d8+6=11, 1d6=3 Call to Arms on Grell: first attack is vs WILL, second attack is using longsword (+2 CA, +1 24h, +1 bless, +2 power bonus)

OOC: First attack roll should have been a 7, not a 5, so 15 vs WILL. If this hits, the Grell is pulled to F9 and Alys makes the secondary attack which is a flub. Either way, grell has divine challenge on it, -3 to hit others, and 8 radiant damage if it tries.

"Stand brave, Korg!" With the gnolls dead, Thaelan turns his attentions to the grell. He calls upon his platypus spirit yet again, hoping that the spirit can disturb even a demon and buy Korg a slight edge in the combat. While the platypus attacks the grell, Thaelan activates a sunrod, slides the butterfly spirit companion about the combat field, and tosses the sunrod down the well.

mechanics:
standard: haunting spirits upon grell will (psychic damage) On a hit, Korg gains CA until my next turn ends.
minor: retrieve sunrod
free: activate sunrod
move: move SC to D7, Thaelan walks to F5 then back to G4
free: drop sunrod into well while at F5
free: look into well

haunting spirits attacking grell will (1d20+10=18, 1d6+6=9)

OOC: I will announce what I see down the well. Assuming it is a long way down, I will save bonds of the clan to split damage with anyone falling down the well, receiving a KO blow, or receiving a brutal critical.

Alysandra challenges the grell, but is unable to force it away from Korg.

Thaelan calls upon his platypus spirit, which manages to frighten even this aberration, causing blood to ooze out (9 damage to Grell, Korg gains CA against it). The shaman then pulls out his sunrod and drops it in the well. The dwarf looks down and sees that it is about 30 feet deep, with slick walls, and is now well lit.

The grell then moves closer to Korg to try to bite him again, but cannot quite manage to connect (Grell takes 8 damage from DC). Failing that, it tries to rub its tentacles across the half-orc, but cannot hit him at all.

Grabbed Condition: You are immobilized until the grab is ended. If the grabber is affected by a condition that prevents OAs, the grab ends. If you are able to move out of the creature's reach, the grab ends. You can use a move action to try to escape with an Acrobatics check vs. Reflex or an Athletics check vs. Fortitude. If you succeed, the grab ends and you can shift 1 sq.

Korg, seething in disgust, looks for the most tender part of the creature's body.

Korg lashes out furiously at the grell, cutting it deeply (26 damage to Grell). The grell cannot keep holding on with all of the pain of being stabbed and the wriggling half-orc and Korg manages to twist away (Korg escapes). Finally, Korg has feeling return to his arms and legs and he feels normal again (Korg saves vs. slowed, -2 to attack).

Jauthak then moves in next to the floating aberration and burns it with his flaming sword, while making sure it cannot attack his allies as easily (10 damage to Grell, Grell is marked).

OOC: Josh, that was good. You actually did not have flanking, as Korg was able to escape and shift away,
