Alysandra's eyes widen in shock at seeing the girl turn around and try to run away instead of slipping under the wagon as she commanded. She grits her teeth in barely restrained anger when the goblin ruthlessly cuts her down and takes solace in the fact that many others will have been saved thanks to her efforts and those of the four other strangers.

"May Sune embrace you in her loving arms." whispers the paladin to the departing girl's soul. She then flinches in pain at being struck by the goblin. "You may be able to murder an innocent girl, but you'll find that I'm much more than you can handle!".

Dra'Kor could taste the mead already - a savory wheat ale this time perhaps? He approached the Green Tankard Tavern as it lay at the opposite end of a square filled with annoying citizens in the jubilant throws of this damned festival.

"Excuse me," he grumbled, as the revelers seemed to throw themselves in front of him. Dra'Kor once again began to succumb to his tendency to grow...testy when he doesn't immediately get what he wants. He knocked over an old man and walked with greater urgency toward the tavern.

As Dra'Kor approached the steps there was a sudden shockwave of an explosion to his left, joined with a sharp, intense pain to the left side of his head - a rock from the apparent explosion had struck Dra'Kor in the head.

OOC: Ari, I suggest rolling a 1d6 or whatever seems appropriate for the rock strike - it makes a great explanation of my blistering low initiative this round

Everything was in a cloudy daze, but Dra'Kor slowly picked himself up while hearing the muffled screams and battle cries that surrounded him. He gradually turned his attention towards the source of the explosion and saw some goblins, several pathetic townspeople, as well as a few more capable challengers facing off against the goblins. Adrenaline surged through him and effectively brought him out of his daze. He saw a human swordsman cut down a goblin in blinding speed just before his sword started glowing blue. Dra'Kor was now surveying his own opportunity for attack, when stinging sparks exploded in his face. He couldn't see anything.

"DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!!!" He shouted. He was filled with rage and frustration, but then his blindness instantly dissipated as quickly as it arrived. Confounded by the absurdity of his situation, Dra'Kor began to laugh. "Now, I could really use a drink."

He surveyed the battlefield and quickly found his opening. A goblin hexer stood amidst the rubble of what was once the wall of the town and he knew instantly how he became blinded. Following through with his usual lust for vengeance, a smirk played across Dra'Kor's face as he held out his staff...

Blazing Starfall on L13 (1d4 + 8, due to strength and charisma modifiers, +1 bloodied) (1d4+8+1=10, 1d4+8+1=12)

OOC: please provide suggestions if I need to improve my dice rolls and such. Ari, I guess it's your decision where the damage gets applied. I rolled twice - once for each goblin. Was I only supposed to roll once> I'm just happy I figured the whole thing out!

OOC: Big Red, you need to do an attack roll for each enemy, and a single damage roll. So for Blazing Starfall, it would be 2 rolls of 1d20+4+1 (your INT bonus and the +1 bonus to d20 rolls for acting within 24 hrs), and the damage would just be a single roll of 1d4+8. Drak'or is not bloodied until he reaches 1/2 his max hit points, so you would not get that bonus yet.

OOC: Very cool post. Fun to read. When you make your attack roll, don't forget to add +1 for each attack roll for the 24 hour bonus. We've been playing with that +1 on any attack/skill/save rolls if you post within 24 hours after it becomes your turn. Also, the +1 for being a bloodied dragonborn applies to your attack roll, not your damage roll if I recall correctly.

Attack roll should be: 1d20+4+1+1 (base 4 for CHA 18, +1 24h bonus, +1 bloodied) per target vs. REFLEX with blazing starfall. Damage roll would be 1d4+8.

I'm not sure it matters, but as a cosmic sorcerer I think you have to decide what phase you're in after every short or extended rest. When you first become bloodied, your phase shifts one. If you use a daily power you can choose to shift your phase one.

OOC: Ah HA!! Attack rolls! I knew I forgot something. Ari please disregard my previous rolls. Jon, I don't believe I get an Intelligence bonus if that's what you mean. Do you mean Initiative? And in that case why is it +4? Sorry for my confusion. Anyways here goes:

Blazing Starfall on J13. 2 Attack rolls (1d20 +4 for INT +1 for 24hr) 1 damage roll (1d4+8 STR and CHA modifiers) (1d20+4+1=18, 1d20+4+1=16, 1d4+8=11)

OOC: D'oh!! Sorry Viktor I saw your post just after I rolled and posted. Thanks for your clarification on the attack rolls, though. For now I'll leave it up to Ari to decide on the rolls as to what else to add for now.

OOC: No worries. With the bonuses added, you effectively rolled 19 vs REFLEX against target 1 and 17 vs REFLEX against target 2. Since your story post sounds like you're out to get the hexer, we could assume target 1 is the hexer and target 2 is the warrior goblin. Damage for both will be 11. In future, just specify the order of targets in your rolls to make life easier for Ari. Oh, and the cool thing about blazing starfall is that there is now a zone burst 1 that lasts until the END of your next turn. Any enemy leaving the zone will take STR modifier damage (4). This is all thanks to your cosmic magic build. The warrior and hexer are now blocked in if they want to avoid 4 extra damage.

EDIT: I just noticed that Drak'or isn't actually bloodied yet, since his HP isn't half or less than half his max HP, so the rolls you made are 18 and 16.

Sensing the Sorcerer's duel, Drak'or rises to the occasion. Calling down a starfall of pure radiant energy on his enemies, the cosmic caster blasts the center of the gap in the wall with spectral fire, hitting both goblins there.

With a flick of his wrist the goblin in front of the rogue falls to the ground dead. Ander seems to have never moved.

Caring nothing for his fallen comrades, the red goblin moves away thinking of his own skin. Once again settling into another excellent position, the goblin bolts another javelin into Crag. It finds its way deep into Crag's sternum; it will surly knock him out unless some miracle intervenes.

Turning her head, Alysandra looks on as the courageous dwarf who rescued the majority of the townspeople with his magical prowess falls prey to one of the remaining goblins. She grits her teeth in determination not to let his sacrifice be in vain.

OOC: Ari, I'm guessing you decided not to mark the blazing starfall zone on the map, but I think the automatic damage to pink and the hexer will be 4 fire damage if either of them moves out of the zone. I guess we'll see what pink does next. By the way, since Crag became unconscious, I think that means the spirit bear dissipates for now. Maybe Zeth can kill goblin 2, then engage red, pink, or the hexer.

Zetheryin moves around the fountain toward the goblins he perceives to be a bigger threat. Reaching them, his sword seems to dance all around him, hitting the hexer and scratching the warrior. The two goblins are so entranced by the bladework of the swordmage that they forget to do simple things like make opportunity attacks and shift. Then, enraged that his attack failed to kill the warrior who would dare to attack a paladin in the back, he turns his attention to him, killing him with a lightning burst from his sword, causing another bolt of lightning to spring forth, slaying the goblin on the other side of the paladin.

Move: Walk to L13, provoking an opportunity attack from C2.

Standard: Dance of the Sword on pink, yellow dance of the sword vs pink, hexer (1d20+5+1=11, 1d20+5+1=25, 1d8+4=8) Hits 11 Will on pink and 25 will on yellow for 8 damage, and the target cannot shift or make opportunity attacks (save ends). Miss is 4 damage and the target cannot shift or make opp attacks until the end of my next turn.

ACTION POINT!! Lightning Clash vs pink lightning clash vs pink (1d20+8+1=26, 1d8+4=11) Hits AC 26 for 11 damage. Secondary attack vs C3 lightning clash secondary vs C3 (1d20+8+1=26, 1d6+4=7) hits Reflex 26 for 7 damage.

Alysandra arches her back in pain as she is stabbed from behind. She turns around in time to see the blur of rapid movements and attacks from Zetheryin. Squinting at the flash of lightning that arcs past her, she calmly surveys the dropped corpses of the two goblins around her.

"Thank you, stranger. I am glad a courageous soul such as yourself has come to the aid of these people. Let us finish the rest with swift justice."

OOC: If the goblin hexer uses a will attack against Alysandra alone or her and Zeth, she will activate her Bastion of Mental Clarifty, conferring +4 WILL to both of them prior to damage being dealt, so the attack might miss. Crag would also get the bonus, since he is within range 5.

With heroic fervor, Zetheryin rushes to the aid of his new ally. Bold and brazen, the swordmage displays his most spectacular attack. Fluid and balanced, Zeth and his longsword act as one. Flourishing, slicing, and slashing in a ballet of form and bladework, the swordmage confuses his surrounding oppenents and wounds the hexer. Following this display of awesome skill with a blade, the Zeth sends forth lightening from his weapon. Striking the warrior the bolt kills it and surges past the paladin, electrifying the other goblin until dead.

Completely off-balance, the hexer decides not to risk a range attack standing next to the swordmage. Cowering in terror, the hexer barely musters the will to melee the swordmage with his staff. Striking with some force Zetheryin takes 5 damage.

Confident that the swordmage will handle the hexer, Alysandra moves back across the square to confront the other goblin warrior (move to o12). "Face me and fight with honor!" she declares, invoking a divine challenge (minor action: marking with divine challenge against red goblin warrior). She then tries to strike it with a crippling blow, but misses.

Enfeebling strike against red goblin. (1d20+8+1=14, 1d8+5=6)

OOC: 14 vs AC for 6 damage. If it hits, red has -2 to AC due to moon domain feat and -2 to all attacks due to enfeebling strike on a marked target. Regardless of hit or miss, red has -2 to attack anyone other than Alysandra and will take 8 radiant damage if it attacks anyone other than Alysandra (divine challenge). By the way, would a divine challenge marked enemy be at -4 to hit anyone else if the enfeebling strike hits? Are the two cumulative?

Having successfully drawn the attention of the raiders, the party allows the 10 remaining townsfolk to escape with their lives.

Just as the townsfolk clear out, two of the remaining goblins attack. Dodging the paladin's miss, the red goblin shifts to O11; as a reaction the hexer motivates him to shift to M10.

Seeing a clear path to the wounded caster, goblin #2 springs to strike him down. Making a critical attack the goblin might have seriously wounded Drak'or. Instead, Zetheryin makes an immediate reaction to shield the sorcerer; his mark envelops the goblin preventing the damage.

Simultaneously, goblin #7 moves to flank the swordmage, dealing 5 damage from a lucky blow with his short sword into Zeth's back.
