Looks like Zetheryin didn't pick a backround, which means he might be missing out on some perks. Crag Stonehelm should have an AC of 16 or so.

BTW, I'm trying to decide between this color: red and this color: brown for Alysandra's text. Went with brown for now, but might change it to red, since one of the other characters has brown or bold-brown.

Ander is using Brown (bolded) as his speaking text. That doesn't mean you can't, but I had it first ;)

Good catch. Zetheryin does actually have a background, I just posted an outdated character sheet.
Akanűl
Akanűl is a land defined by extreme geography, eldritch beasts, and genasi. A new nation formed in the devastated and warped lands between Chessenta and Chondath, Akanűl has overcome great adversity and is now a name to be respected and feared.

You gain resist 2 cold, resist 2 fire, and resist 2 thunder (or your existing resistance to these damage types increases by 2).

Okay, I'll stay away from brown then to avoid confusion. Is there some type of gold or dark gold (brownish yellow) color that is easy on the eyes?

gold a little hard to read, or I'd take it
teal
red
crimson
brown

Of these, I'm leaning towards crimson, maybe teal. Actually I think I'll take crimson unless somebody can figure out how to make gold not so shiny looking. ;)

Sorry Viktor, I think you got punked. I think because it's Mike's website that translates to Mike beingPpope to the Web-Gods?

Please don't choose a color that is as difficult to the eyes as my first couple of choices.

maybe a nice version of brown that is totally cooler than Mikes? :P

Is the crimson okay? It's late and my eyes are tired. It looks like red with a dash of brown to me, but isn't hard to focus on. Perhaps it could even be considered brown-with-dash-of-red-that-is-cooler-than-Mike's-bolded-brown?

goldenrod

crimson

Choices, choices...

Zetheryin updated his character sheet with a background, but not sure if Ari sent that one out.

Speaking of Zetheryin, I'm curious why you went with longsword. Is it for the +3 proficiency or maybe swordmages get bonuses to some powers when wielding a longsword?

Can swordmages still use the weapon as an implement if they take the bastard sword proficiency feat? (+3 to attack, 1d10, one-handed)

Crimson it is then!

Yeah, it's any light or heavy blade, as long as it is used one handed. To be honest, I didn't even consider bastard sword. Maybe I should have, but Zetheryin is set up to be so overly defensive minded that I don't know that it will do much. I also only have 1 weapon power at this point.

That's cool then. I thought you might have more of an offensive oriented defender swordmage. Looks like both Zeth and Alys are totally defensive, low-damage minded then. Since longsword also has +3 to hit, it works out. By the way, have you seen the Mark of Warding feat? It's pretty awesome for ultra-defensive minded defenders, since it makes it even less likely for marked enemies to consider going elsewhere, plus give defense bonuses on occasion, and even teaches some rituals. It's an Eberron feat though, so I don't know if Ari would be okay with it. Maybe at least for my Kalashtar paladin, eh, since her soul is partially from Eberron anyhow. ;)

I haven't sent character sheets to people's emails. I thought people would have enough with the summaries, but it makes sense to have each other's information. I will send out pdfs via email tonight.

Well, with 2 defensive oriented defenders, we should make for a nice line of rocks for baddies to beat themselves against, especially with 2 ranged marking powers.

I realized this morning that I wasn't listening to my own advice using a broadsword instead of a longsword. Ari, can you please adjust Alysandra's equipment so that she has a longsword instead. I think the +3 porficiency is probably better for her build instead of a little extra damage whenever she hits. The whole point of her build will be to limit enemy movement and inflict status effects on enemies and allies, but she has to hit first so that's most important.

Later on, I might take the bastard sword or triple flail feat for a little extra damage.

So I sent the party's character sheets to everyone last night, but I forgot to change Alys' (Viktor's) deity. In the character sheet it says Corellon when it should be Sune.

Don't worry about the character sheet for Alysandra. Divine Power will arrive shortly and her sheet will change anyhow.

It will be, but not for another three weeks or so. I read through a lot of the blogs by people who received early copies. I'm definitely going to redo my paladin. Since Gary's character is very healing-focused, I'll be going with the Virtuous Paladin build. It replaces Lay on Hands with an at-will that removes status effects (WIS modifier times per day). I will also change my feat and maybe pick a domain feat or perpetual challenge (allows Divine Challenge to remain in effect an extra turn even if the conditions are not met) or some other cool new feat. Will also change the at-will powers, at least one of them. Don't know anything about the encounters and dailys yet.

Question: If an at-will says that it can be used as a melee basic attack (Divine Power new paladin at-will Virtuous Strike has it), does that mean you can also use that at-will at the end of a charge? I ask, because I've seen other powers that say they can be used in a charge attack. Most of those I've seen are encounter powers, but I think Divine Power paladin at-will (Ardent Stike) specifies it can be used in a charge. Does anyone know?

I think it would. PHB page 287: "Charge: Move and Attack: Move your speed as part of the charge and make a melee basic attack or a bull rush at the end of your move." That would seem to be any melee basic. Those others can only be used as a melee basic as part of a charge. This one should also work as an opp attack.

Ahh, now I get it. If it says "can be used as a melee basic" it's essentially a lot more versatile, while "can be used in a charge" limits to charging only. I just wasn't sure what the distinction was. That helps a lot and makes Virtuous Strike (which uses CHA to attack) for my CHA/WIS based paladin almost a must-have since she currently has a crappy melee basic based on her low strength. I was worried about being a futile paladin who runs in, misses everyone, and just looks stupid.

Might get Ardent Strike as well (it's either CHA or STR based) since it marks the target with the new Divine Sanction if hit. Divine Sanction works like Divine Challenget, but it has no conditions to uphold it for one turn. All you have to do is hit the target. With both Divine Sanction (that other paladin powers also use) and Divine Challenge, the paladin become as lot better at keeping more than just one foe occupied.

That would be handy. I see fun times of us marking each other's targets. While my Aegis of Shielding doesn't do damage for a marked guy attacking you, reducing the damage it does if it hits you by 9 is pretty decent. And wow, the futile paladin sounds like a cool build. Hehehe.
