Actually, I was thinking of Deva, as well (I just couldn't remember the races in PHB2). What are the Deva benefits (and I don't care that much about min/max-ing)?. I want to play some concepts.

Deva's are +Int/Wis. The Int helps a warlock with their secondary stat. They also get an encounter power that gives them a +1d6 to a roll they've just made, and a +1 to defenses against bloodied creatures. Also, bonuses to history and religion, I think.

Alrighty, here's my character, Ishara of the Deva:

I made her from scratch, and didn't use the character builder. I used the above worksheet to figure out all the details (so hopefully it's mostly correct). Mistakes I've found:

- Invokers get the "Hand of Fate" ritual as a daily action, effectively. It wouldn't let me include it in my list of Rituals because it's 4th level.

- The sheet didn't include my "Channel Divinity" powers, so I "wrote" them in - I have Rebuke Undead and Armor of Wrath.

A few comments:

- I'd suggest using the Covenant of Preservation, as it uses Int, which can easily be high for you with the Deva racial bonus. I'd also swap your encounter powers if you do this to the one that Preservation benefits.

- I'd recommend making your stats:

STR 8
CON 12
DEX 10
INT 18
WIS 18
CHA 12

Str and Dex don't directly impact your powers, so the can be a bit lower. Intelligence gives you lots of perks for different Invoker powers, especially Preservation ones, and increases your AC and Reflex.

- I'd use Hide instead of Leather armor. The 1 higher AC is more important than the -1 to physical skills, I think.

- You need to pick two languages to speak. (I've picked Elven and Dwarven on the PDF below just to have something there).

- If you want to give me alignment, diety, height, weight, and age, I can add those to the sheet.

Are we expecting more players for the first delve? If not, we may actually be able to start playing this Sunday. Actually, even if there is one more to join, we might as well begin a little at least on Sunday (e.g. characters hanging out in the guild, describing themselves briefly). Before we start though, I would like to have a picture file (jpeg or other) emailed to me, so I can create player tokens for the battle grids. Jonathan already sent me his.

Also, in the next post I've put an example gameplay post which includes a drop-down stat block, two ways of describing the action mechanics, and some invisible castle rolls and OOC (out of character) comments. Feel free to use the quote button to adapt the stat block and other stuff for your use.

Lastly, everyone should pick a text color for their character to use when speaking. I suggest we all pick a color and just stick with that color for all delves, regardless of character switching or we'll have this discussion every delve. Since some of us are already using a color for the Scales adventure, it might be easiest to just continue using the same color, but whatever you guys want is fine.

Ravenblade takes a couple of deep breaths. As he does so, his mind enables him to stop the flow of blood to his wounds and ease the pain for the time being (second wind). He then eyes the ogre towering over him balefully, making out his weak tendons (HQ on green). With a quick one-two, his craghammers lash out (twin strike on green). He follows through with two thunderous smashes into the behemoth (ACTION POINT: thundertusk on green).

Twin Strike on green ogre. (1d20+8+1=23, 1d10.minroll(3)+4=9, 1d20+7+1=12, 1d10.minroll(3)+3=8)

HQ extra damage. (1d6=5)

Thundertusk boar strike on green ogre. One hit pushes one square, two hits push 5 squares (wisdom mod). (1d20+8+1=21, 1d10.minroll(3)+7=11, 1d20+7+1=20, 1d10.minroll(3)+6=13)

Save VS immobilized. (1d20+1=4)

OOC: Second wind heals for 13 plus Mal's bonus (5) from action point and +2 to all defenses. 14 damage from twin strike with HQ. 24 damage from thundertusk. Total 38 damage. Green ogre is pushed five squares to space E2 (i.e. the corner of J6 ogre spot moves to E2). Ravenblade is still stuck.

I was going to go with a silver/gray color in keeping with his last name of Silverscale, but those totally don't show up on the board's color scheme.

Late to the party here but I am trying to come up with a character... So far I have a half orc rogue speced out, but it looks like we may need a healer of some sort, so I may roll up a cleric instead...

Marek, my bard is a leader, so he can handle healing. If you want to go with a rogue, feel free. With three strikers, we'll kill everything before we take any damage anyway. :) With a fighter, barbarian, and bard, you'll have lots of flanking partners for your rogue, too.
