Sered Val decides it would be wiser to let the melee fighters of the group wreak some havoc before throwing curses around.

Korg shouts in orcish past the others to his kinsman, giving Gal-Uk a head start to kill some kobolds before he'll clean up the rest.

OOC: Josh, I think you can't delay a turn until an enemy is dead or moved. That would be a trigger and would require a readied action, so I placed Sered Val after the green kobold. Korg is now after Gal-Uk and Ishara has the initiative.

OOC: That's fine, but I could have instead said: Delay until after Ishara's turn and if the Green Kobold isn't dead, Delay until after his turn.

OOC: That makes more sense now. Either way is fine with me. Just let me know for sure which you prefer.
1) Delay until after green
2)delay until after Ishara =>delay until after green if it survives Ishara's turn.

Eager to find her way into the battle, Ishara moves to the forefront, quickly takes note of her enemies, and fires two bolts of divine lightning from her hands.

Move Action: Move to C9
Standard Action: Attack Green Kobold (E9) and Purple Kobold (F8) with Divine Bolts.

Divine Bolts (1d20+4+1=12, 1d20+4+1=11, 1d6+4=9)

Divine Bolts hits 12 Reflex against Green Kobold (E9) and 11 Reflex against Purple Kobold (F8) for 9 radient damage.

OOC: If moving from D10 to C9 invokes an opportunity attack from Green, use Armor of Wrath to deal him 3 radient damage if he hits me. If this kills him, switch my attack from him to Blue Kobold (G7)

OOC: Ishara cannot move to C9. Devas have speed 6. Moving her from H10 to E10 is 3 spaces. To get to C9, she would have to move on two difficult terrain spaces. The entire area of A9-D9 and A10-D10 is difficult terrain. Do you want me to have Ishara stop at D9 instead? If not, feel free to re-do.

Ishara moves into the fray, running along the fence, and leaping on top of the debris in front of Arjhan. With powerful eyes, she scans the excavation pit, her gaze falling upon the two nearest kobolds. Out of nowhere, two bright bolds materialize in her hands which she flings at the reptilians. With panicked shrieking, both kobolds duck their heads, barely escaping divine incineration.

OOC: Ishara does trigger an opportunity attack moving from E10 to D9 because the fence disallows being physically ajacent for opp attacks.

The nearest kobold, grinning at having ducked and stabbed at and hit the Deva, thus avoiding the bolt of energy, cocks its head in curiosity. An aura of light envelops Ishara; a moment later a focused surge of radiance pierces the kobold in the forehead, hurling it backwards...dead.

The warlock moves forward on to the stairs after hearing the death throes of the nearest kobold. He shouts, "You are not long for this world!" to one of the kobold's on the stairs and calls a beam of light onto the kobold behind it.

Move Action: Walk to D8

Minor Action: Warlock's Curse on Purple (Can place on nearest visible enemy and deal extra damage (1d6) if you hit; Cursed target reduced to 0 provides Fate of the Void bonus)

Standard Action: Dire Radiance on Black Slinger (Con vs. Fort, Hit: 1d6+2 dam, If target moves nearer on next turn, it takes 1d6+2 extra dam)

Dire Radiance (+3 I, +1 Prime Shot, +1 24hr) (1d20+5=11, 1d6+2=7, 1d6+2=8)

No Action: Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes (After you make an attack roll, saving throw, skill check or ability check, you can add 1d6 to the result)

Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes (1d6=4)

OOC: Sered moves onto the stairs gaining Shadow Walk concealment, curses the Purple Kobold and uses Dire Radiance on Black Slinger, hitting Fort 11 for 7 damage. If the Black Slinger moves towards me, he takes 8 more damage. If 11 Fort doesn't hit, but is within 6 of the total (if I know that...if I don't know, I will use it and hope...so the only way I don't use it is if I know I can't hit the Slinger while using it), I use Memory, and roll a 4, to hit Fort 15.

Sered Val moves onto the stairs of the excavation pit and turns his head briefly to curse a nearby kobold. He then focuses his efforts on the Kobold slinger hiding behind some minions at the bottom of the stairs. Calling upon ephemeral memories of the past, he recalls how to smite the kobold just so and inflicts 8 radiant damage.

Immediately after, the cursed kobold moves next to Ishara and hits her for 4 damage, then lithely shifts down the stairs a bit. Another kobold follows the first one's lead and inflicts another 4 damage on Ishara. A kobold from the bottom of the stairs moves up and hits Sered Val, who is then also struck by a javalin hurled from afar, for a total of 8 damage.

OOC: I forgot to mention that the previous damage to Ishara during her turn was also 4, although I had marked it down. In case you are wondering, only ascending these particular stairs count as difficult terrain. By the way, Sered Val's initial throw against the slinger should have been at -2 for being concealed behind it's ally. I don't really know how the Memory thing should work in terms of predicting if it would help. Anyone? In this case, I went with it for now.

Sure, go ahead. Also, you can roll a DC 15 athletics to jump/climb over the fence as part of your move. The only catch is that if you fail the roll, your move ends. I'm thinking that the climb over might take up two spaces of movement though, one to climb and one to jump down.

Korg shakes his head at the devas

Why are those two charging in and getting surrounded? Let the guys with the axes and hammers be the front line!"

Some people just have no head for self preservation, Korg surmised.

Gal-Uk moves around the pit, and charges at the slinger nearest him, a howl of bloodlust escaping his lips. He swings his greataxe down, and is rewarded by the feeling of axehead meeting flesh.

Minor: Draw greataxe

Move: Move to A8

Standard: Charge to A4, using Howling Strike on Brown Slinger (Howling can be used in place of a standard melee attack when charging), hits AC 24 for 12 damage

Free: If brown is still alive (which I am assuming he is), using Furious Assault to deal an extra 10 damage, assuming 24 hits Furious assault extra damage (1d12=10)

Charge using howling strike (1d20+6, +1 for charge, +24h) (1d20+6+1+1=24, 1d12+1d6+5=12)

I am assuming 24 hits, making this 22 damage total. I will do this regardless of Arjhan's action, unless I am unable. If this bloodies brown, the next attack against him gets a +2 bonus due to thaneborn triumph.

OOC: I should probably point this out, as this is the first time we're playing with a bard.

Virtue of Valor: Once per round, when an ally within 10 squares of Khorvan bloodies or reduces an enemy to 0 hit points, Khorvan grants that ally 4 temporary hit points.

I generally think whoever bloodies or drops an enemy first each round and doesn't have temp HP should take the temp HP to make sure they're given out as much as possible, but I'm open to suggestions on who might otherwise get them.

OOC: Nice use of the terrain. For future reference, I will always assume that everyone begins an encounter with a weapon readied, unless the group is surprised or in some sort of social setting prior to the battle.

I think setting the temp HP to automatic is a good idea. Feel free to remind me whenever I forget. In this case, I'll still wait until Ari takes his turn to preserve chronology.

Arjhan has the initiative.

Arjhan decides to act sensibly, thinking to prepare for the next wave of slithering spawn. With a brash strike, Arjhan swings his warhammer into the yellow lizard next to him ferociously, dealing 16 dmg. After which he attemtps to step into the space the lizard occupied.

Warhammer: +9 attack, 1d10+8 damage (1d20+9=29, 1d10+8=16)

Major action: Brash Strike

movement: from D10 to E9

Minor Action: None OOC:If i need to make an athletics check here it is, also, is there any minor action anyone would have suggested here?

Athletics check for climbing fence: athlecs +7, +1 24hr (1d20+7+1=21)

OOC: No need to climb since he's moving around the edge of the fence. You may want to consider dragon breath as your minor action. Also, your brash strike was a critical hit (20) which would max the damage to 18 automatically. In this case it's overkill because the enemy is a minion. I'll wait to see if you do dragon breath before updating prior to Korg's turn.

Arjhan makes a massive swipe against the kobold nearest him, cleanly decapitating it. He then kicks the body aside and takes his place inside the fence, feeling a particular boost in morale and closeness to his companions, having vanquished a foe (+4 temp HP from Khorvan's virtue of valor).

Gal-Uk, shouting in rage, charges along the lip of the dig and swings his mighty axe downward, inflicting severe damage on the unfortunate slinger, who barely survives the attack.

User posted image

OOC: Arjhan gets the temp HP because virtue of valor is only once per round and he killed the kobold first. I indicated a -2 AC for the brown slinger due to the Thaneborn Triumph effect of "next attack from your or an ally gains a bonus equal to charisma modifier". Easier for everyone to keep track.

Initiative Order:
Brown Slinger: down 22, bloodied, -2 AC when next hit
Grey Slinger:
Periwinkle Kobold:
Ishara: 14/26
Sered Val: 18/26
Lavender Kobold:
Yellow Kobold:
Tan Kobold:
Purple Kobold: cursed
Green Kobold:
Arjhan: 31/31 +4 temp HP
Gal-Uk: 29/29
->Korg: 26/26
Blue Kobold:
Sage Kobold:
Red Kobold:
Orange kobold:
Pink Kobold:
Black Slinger: down 8, dire rad
