Khorvan moves up to the dragon, framing it squarely with Sered on the opposite side, then lashes out, slicing the dragon with his longsword as he calls to his allies, "Forward! Strike now! No mercy!"

Leading by example, he continues his assault with a blast of lightning breath, enveloping the dragon and nearby kobold. Finally, Khorvan steels himself for the rest of the battle.

Move action - Move to F5.

Standard action - Slayer's Song against Dragon.

Slayer's Song vs Dragon (Combat Advantage from flanking, Bloodied, 24H) (1d20+8+4+1+1=25, 2d8+4=6)

Hits AC 25 versus Dragon for 6 damage (minimum possible!), and on a hit, the dragon grants combat advantage to all my allies (save ends). On a miss, half-damage and no CA. Whether I hit or miss, until the end of the encounter, whenever I hit an enemy, that enemy grants combat advantage to me and my allies until the end of my next turn.

Minor action - Dragon Breath on Dragon and Pink Kobold.

Dragon breath (CA, bloodied, 24H) (1d20+5+2+1+1=27, 1d20+5+2+1+1=15, 1d6+3=9)

Hits Reflex 27 versus Dragon for 9 lightning damage and hits Reflex 15 versus Pink for 9 lightning damage.

ACTION POINT!

Standard action - Second Wind, healing 10 HP and granting +2 to defense until the end of my next turn.

Khorvan courageously moves right up to the white dragon and begins the song of the slayer, encouraging his allies to attack the dragon as well. He then blasts the dragon and nearby kobold with a wave of lightning. Although the dragon is too big to avoid the damage, the kobold is nimble enough to evade. Finally, the bard takes a few deep breaths to gain strength for the rest of the battle.

Seeing an opportunity before him, Arjhan musters his strength. He tries to smash the pink kobold with a brash strike.

OOC: I would like to move and use my action point if I hit and kill pink. If not, I will end my turn now; I don't want to provoke an opportunity attack.
brash strike: +9, +2 combat adv., +1 24hrs (1d20+9+1+2=20, 1d10+8=13)

After the last kobold falls, Arjhan feels relief only for a moment before focusing his attention on slaying the final beast with his most powerful attack.

movement action: walking to h5

ACTION POINT: Villain's Menace
(Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 2[W] + Strength modifier (+4) damage, and you gain a +2 power bonus to attack rolls and a +4 power bonus to damage rolls against the target until the end of the encounter. With one daring strike, Arjhan hits pink kobold just hard enough to kill it. As it falls, Arjhan feels some new vigor for his valorous act and Sered Val feels another surge of confidence in his fate.

The dragonborn fighter then moves near the white dragon and becomes her worst nightmare as he inflicts a serious wound for 14 damage, with a promise of more to come.

Seeing the end of the battle in sight, Ishara blasts the dragon with bright radiant energy. She then pulls from her strength reserves and prepares to aid her companions for the rest of the fight.

Standard Action: Attack Dragon with Sun Strike.
Action Point!: Use Second Wind.

Sun Strike: (1d20+4+1=17, 1d8+4=10)

Sun Strike hits Reflex 17 (+2 for combat advantage) on dragon for 10 radiant damage. Second Wind heals 6 HP and grants +2 to defense until the end of my next turn.

The deva calmly steps away from the dragon, staring all the while, and says, "You are next. You cannot hope to stop our power." Suddenly, a blue orb starts circling the dragon, firing bolts of light at the beast, corralling it with pain. The warlock then takes an extra moment to staunch his bleeding.

Move Action: Shift to H8

Minor Action: Warlock's Curse (Hit: 1d6 damage; Cursed target reduced to 0 provides Fate of the Void bonus)

Standard Action: Dread Star (Cha vs. Will; Hit: 2d6+3 dam, target is immobilized until the end of my next turn; Effect: Target takes -2 penalty to Will (save ends))

Dread Star (+4 I, +1 24hr, +2 FotV, +2 CA) (1d20+9=23, 2d6+3=14, 1d6=2)

No Action: Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes (After you make an attack roll, saving throw, skill check or ability check, you can add 1d6 to the result)

MoatL (1d6=2)

ACTION POINT!

Standard Action: Second Wind (Use a surge to gain 6 HP and +2 def.)

OOC: I did not include the -4 to Will in my roll, but here is my turn. Shift away from the dragon to H8, curse it, hit Will 23 (25 if it somehow misses and I use MoaTL) for 14 damage +2 curse damage (16 total damage). Also, the dragon has -2 to Will (save ends) and is immobilized until the end of my next turn. Use an action point for a Second Wind to gain 6 HP (15 HP total, 4 surges left) and +2 to defenses.

Ishara blasts the white dragon with searing sunlight and then takes a few breaths to recover her composure. Sered Val shifts away and then conjures an orb of blue power that he flings at the dragon. It circles her head, shooting it with multiple arcs of energy, leaving it disoriented and unable to move. The deva then collects herself and prepares for a counterattack.

"Aaaarghhh! I will kill each of you myself! I will tear off all of your limbs! Leave now or suffer the consequences!!!" bellows the dragon in pain and rage.

Gal-Uk takes a moment to clear his head, then moves over to the dragon. He calls upon the spirit of the Great Panther, and in almost cat-like form, swings his greataxe fiercely, inflicting great damage, and purring in delight.

Second wind - Regain 11 HP (7 +4 from Khorvan's ability) and +2 def, down to 5/10 surges.

Move to F6.

ACTION POINT!!

Swift Panther Rage on dragon. swift panther rage on dragon (1d20+6+2+1=26, 3d12+5=31) Hits 26 vs AC for 31 damage (half damage on a miss). For the remainder of the encounter, Gal-Uk gets +2 speed and can shift 2 squares as a move action.

Gal-Uk swiftly sidles up to the white dragon and unleashes a feline rage of fury upon the beast, inflicting a deep wound.

She roars and screams in anguish, pain, and frustration at not being able to take flight. Her neck cranes around and her eyes narrow, focusing on the one that trapped her, as coldness begins to grow in her throat. With a tremendous burst, she spews a freezing cloud of ice over Sered Val, inflicting 21 cold damage. His eyes widen in astonishment and he wonders what an afterlife for a deva would be like. A split-second later he topples to the floor in icy rigor mortis.

"If I must die this day, then I will take as many of you with me as possible!!!! " she bellows and whips her head back around to the half-orc barbarian. With the fury of a dragon, she easily bypasses his defenses and claws at him twice, slashing through skin and muscle, and follows through with a mighty bite of her jaw for a total of 30 damage! As his vision fills with red and then black, Gal-Uk wonders briefly whether or not such dangers and physical pain are worth it to receive a meager thirty gold pieces from the guild; then he falls.

Whipping it's head back and forth, the dragon looks for more flesh to tear apart. She seems to gather her wits and is clearly more cognizant of her immediate danger, although she is suffering from many wounds and can't be far from death herself. Perhaps she is wondering where the last kobold went, for it is nowhere in sight. Perhaps she is wondering if the five puny humanoids she can see are all that stand in her way or if they brought some more sneaky friends into her home.

OOC: I only gave Gal-Uk, and the others, their surge value for second wind healing. I believe Khorvan's ability (Song of Rest) applies to short rests only and doesn't work mid-battle.

White dragon is still immobilized.

Initiative Order:
->Korg: 24/26
Khorvan: 19/28 +2 all defenses (second wind)
Arjhan: 8/31 bloodied, +4 temp HP
Ishara: 12/26 bloodied, +4 temp HP, +2 defenses (second wind)
Sered Val: -6/26 dying
Gal-Uk: -10/29 dying
White Dragon: down 91, cursed, bloodied
grants combat advantage to all (save ends)
Arjhan gets +2 hit and +4 damage until end of encounter
immobilized until end of Sered Val's next turn

... and misses his mark, dagger whistling high into the air.

Undeterred, with a quick feint, he jabs again, sinking his dagger to the hilt in the dragon's neck. The white dragon rears her neck up in excruciating pain, ripping the dagger out of Korg's hand, still embedded in her neck.

"AAAAAARRRRggggghhhhhhhh!!!!! <splutter, gurgle> I....will...killllll...you...before....I....dieeee....." With a last effort she rears up onto her hind legs, spreads her wings wide, and is about to stomp down on Korg, when she is struck in the heart by his first dagger that finally made its way back from a high trajectory. Instead of falling forward onto Korg, she falls backward with a mighty thump and exhales her last breath of cold.

It doesn't take too long until Khorvan manages to stabilize his fellow companions, now that the threat has passed. Meanwhile, Korg retrieves his daggers and then notices the double doors at the other end of the room.

OOC: Lol! Oops. I got distracted by one of my cats. Didn't mean to click edit, but quote. Sorry.

Gal-Uk uses a handaxe to saw out one of the dragon's teeth for a trophy. "Worthwhile foes should be honored by gallant warriors." He then uses healing surges to heal fully (probably takes three, putting him down to 2/10), and searches the bodies.

After Gal-Uk feels better and acquires his trophy, he makes his rounds searching the kobold corpses. While doing so, he begins to notice a difference between the three dead kobolds that were more tenacious and the others. Underneath their clothes, they appear to be made of more sinew and muscle, but otherwise are attired and equipped the same as the others. On one of thes sly blade-wielding kobolds, he finds a key.

Khorvan takes his time examining the room in detail. He intentionally leaves the throne with the obvious pile of gold and gems for last. Finally, satisfied that there is nothing else of value in the room, except maybe behind the double doors, he moves to the throne room.

The bard spends the next several minutes counting the gold and trying to estimate the value of all the gemstones. It is immediately obvious at first glance, that it is way more than what the guild will be paying them should they find the militia members.

"Huzzah! Huzzah!" Arjhan exclaims. "Victory is ours! Glory be earned! Let us rejoice this day!"
He salutes his newfound comrades with a deep sincerity, helping any wounded to their feet.
Soothed by the bard's beautiful voice, his heart begins to sink back into his chest. As the tranquility of Khorvan's singing penetrates, Arjhan takes notice of how serious his own wounds are, taking the time to mend them.
After Arjhan is at full strength, and letting the others search, he waits anxiously to venture into the next room, desperately hoping the men they came to save are still alive.

OOC: I accidentally posted before I was finished. Here's the rest

I think I only need 2 healing surges to recover because of Khorvan's song of rest. Arjhan spends two healing surges, takes his share of the loot, and positions himself to be among the first to enter the next room, anxious as usual.
