I was actually trying to do that fancy thing myself and couldn't get it to work. I can't seem to create the nesting. I don't think there shoud be anything special about it, but it doesn't seem to be working. I thought from your code, that mktree set the whole thing to allow nesting, and then liClosed and   gave the cross or something like that, but they just seem to add breaks. I don't want you to spend a couple hours doing that aspect, but I was wondering if you had any advice.

Check out the source code and documentation at <a href="http://www.mattkruse.com/javascript/mktree/index.html" title="http://www.mattkruse.com/javascript/mktree/index.html">http://www.mattkruse.com/javascript/mktree/index.html</a> - the example has many nesting levels, so hopefully you can look at the page code there and see how they did it.

Thanks for the link, but my limited coding knowledge prevents me from making heads or tails from that. Basically, the source code is too complicated for me to figure out which part goes with what. I will look at it again later tonight, but if I don't have any luck, I will give up until I get more info.

I don't know how it is for you guys, but it seems that when I have HTML enabled while posting, all of my text merges together and I can't have spaces between blocks of text. I have therefore turned it off for my posts.

Also, when I tried to use the embedded tree for my stat block, it came out all wrong today. Am I doing something wrong or is it non-user error?

I think you need HTML for the colapsed statblock to work at all...
So turning off HTML kinds kills that.

for line spacing in html use either <br> or <p>

I'll take a look later - the HTML problem exists because the expanding box requires HTML to work, however when it's checked, it disables the automatic line returns, making all the text run together.

There are all sorts of HTML tricks to get around this - you can start each line with <p>, or put <br><br> between each block of text (or one <br> after a line if you don't want a blank line underneath it). It's a bit annoying - but the way the board is set up (for now), you can't do one without the other. I'll check and see if there's a way to re-enable line returns with HTML.

As for your specific issue, try copying someone else's code block and replacing it with your own info. You might also have to do a page refresh (hold down Shift and click "Refresh" in your browser), even if the page has updated a few times. It may be working fine for the rest of us to see, but your browser might not see it.

I can't see the new stat blocks either. I tried the shift-refresh, but it didn't help. But maybe it is just a Kaiser thing? Is anyone else having trouble with them? It seemed to look fine when I was at home.

Posting in here to test the "new post" email everyone gets. I'm trying to find a way to put the name of the user posting in the subject, so that I can know if it's Emily, or one of you =) someone else post (here or otherwise) so I can see what the email looks like. Thanks!

Yeah, that part didn't work. but I moved the text around in the body of the message so that the gmail preview will show me who posted, so that's pretty much what I wanted. Thanks!

Hi there - testing a new email feature to see if I can get the whole post to appear in the notification email. If someone would kindly reply here, I could see the output for myself. Thanks!

Hah! Doesn't work. It just says "[post_content]"

Darn freeware BBS systems...somewhere in that code is a way to do it, but there's no documentation on it. I thought it'd be cool if the whole post was in the emails too (maybe below the link to the post, now that I think about it).

Realized I was likely to need a stat block for Khorvan soon.

Khorvan's level 1 stat block:

  •  Khorvan Silverscale
    • Male Dragonborn Bard 1
    • Passive Perception: 15, Passive Insight: 11
    • AC:17, Fort:13, Reflex:13, Will:15 - Speed:5
    • HP:28/28, Bloodied:14, Surge Value:10, Surges left:10/10
    • Action Points: 1, Second Wind: not used
    • Powers
    • Guiding Strike
    • Misdirected Mark
    • Dragon Breath (Lightning)
    • Majestic Word x2
    • Shout of Triumph
    • Words of Friendship
    • Slayer's Song
    • Virtue of Valor: Once per round, when an ally within 10 squares of Khorvan bloodies or reduces an enemy to 0 hit points, Khorvan grants that ally 4 temporary hit points.
    • Song of Rest: At the end of a short rest, you and each ally spending a healing surge adds your Cha mod (4) to HP regained.
