Azad works to keep the attention of two of her foes, then attacks the nearest gnoll before steeling herself to continue the fight.

Minor action - Battlemind's Demand against Purple Gnoll.

Minor action - Divine Challenge against Black Gnoll.

Standard action - Enfeebling Strike against Black Gnoll Hunter.

Enfeebling Strike against Black Gnoll Hunter. (1d20+12=24, 1d8+7=9)

Hits AC 24 for 9 non-lethal damage, and on a hit the enemy takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls and AC until the end of my next turn.

ACTION POINT!

Standard action - Second Wind, using Amulet of Life to use two surges. Healing 24 HP at the cost of two surges, now at 55/70 HP and 4/13 surges, and +2 to all defenses until the end of my next turn.

"Readying" Forceful Reversal with Augment 1 if I'm hit by an enemy within melee range.

Undaunted by the approaching boulder, Azad shores up her reserves and keeps two enemies engaged with her. The nearest one (black) lunges at her, critting for 15 damage at which point Azad retaliates (I'll let Gary roll the forceful reversal attack). Meanwhile, some of gnolls that see the oncoming boulder scuttle out of the way, while those who can't see move to engage in melee. The gnoll leader, undeterred, stands up and fights. A whip crack announces the attack just as it passes harmlessly over Narg's ear. The other gnoll's attacks miss Azad, but Narg takes an arrow for 15 damage (5 after resist), while Edeya and Corydimbiddle are each struck for 10 damage. The gnome promptly turns invisible.

The rumbling, crashing sounds drown out all else as the giant rolling boulder relentlessly moves forward. Azad, Narg and the gnoll leader manage to find a niche of broken wall to quickly flatten in to. Some of the other gnolls and Edeya are similarly quick, but the others and Corydimbiddle are rolled over for 12 damage and knocked prone. As if that wasn't enough, cranking sounds can be heard from most of the other rooms in this chamber.

OOC: FYI to all, Jonathan is not continuing to play in PoL for an indefinite period of time. Gary, thank you for posting the total hp, etc after using your surges, that helps a lot. It's Narg's turn, but Gary can take Azads forceful reversal at the same time.

As the gnoll who attacked her draws back his weapon, Azad leaps into action, knocking the gnoll back ant advancing on him.

Immediate reaction - Forcecful Reversal (Augment 1) against Black Gnoll Hunter.

Narg growls at being shot, focuses his inner spirit to ignore the wound, and charges the bow weilding gnoll. Narg's battleaxe chops the Hunter to the ground and follows up with the handaxe aimed at its throat.

Minor: Bloodcut Armor ability. I gain resist 10 UENT.

Standard: charge vs purple gnoll: 1D20+13+1 = [12]+13+1 = 26 1D10.MIN (2)+13+1D6 = [7]+13+[3] = 23

Edeya calls on the spirits of her ancestors to keep the enemies away from Anna. She sends an arrow into the gnoll on the floor. Hoping to pin down the other, she shoot at the other gnoll's knee.

OOC: I forgot MW bonus

Minor: Encaging spirits. Close burst 1. Push each enemy 1 square and slowed UENT Edeya. Push blue and orange to N 15,16.
Standard: Biting swarm hits AC 32 orange gnoll hunter for 21 damage, with MW bonus. Adjacent enemies take -2 to attack until ENT Edeya.Biting swarm on Orange, w/CA (1d20+12+1+2=31, 1d12+7=18 )

The glint of a dagger appears our of nowhere and hits the gnoll in the arm, as Corydimbiddle flits into the doorway. "Anna, stand back and hold on to me." The girl holds onto the gnome as he heals himself and protects the girl.

Corydimbiddle throws a dagger to aid Edeya, then crawls over towards Anna just inside the adjacent room and quaffs a healing infusion. A couple seconds after entering the room, the rune circle pulses more brightly and rhythmically. At the same time, two other things happen. The bell of fury that Corydimbiddle is carrying vibrates at the same rhythm as the rune circle is pulsing and two seams open in the ceiling of the room. A crossbow turret lowers out of each seam, swivel and fire at Anna and Corydimbiddle. Anna is struck by a bolt for 14 damage and falls. Corydimbiddle's armor is strong enough to deflect the bolt aimed at him.

Azad diverts the enemies' attention to her and continues weakening the black clad gnoll. She is accosted by two gnolls, but her paladin's armor easily deflects both blows. Dazed, the gnoll confronting Edeya makes a jab at her but is far from connecting. The gnoll leader growls to its companion, catching Narg in a flanking pincer. Even so, both gnolls miss the shifty ranger. Everyone can hear the giant boulder as the rolls and crashes its way around the central corridor again. It will soon be upon them again.

Narg quickly shouts to the prisoners, "Make room for me and hold your chains against the wall! " Narg sees them hesitate and adds, "NOW! " As soon as they comply, Narg charges over and strikes the closest chains.

Move: I'm aiming to end in W11 as the orcs retreat 1 and stretch their chains on the wall in W11.

Standard: Charge with battle axe. It's a +13 to attacks I think.

Free: Maybe dual weapon strike with the hand axe on the same chain if it's unbroken, or another chain if 2 orcs managed to stretch their chains. This one is at +12 to attack.

OOC: I don't have my tablet with me to roll for the attacks. Narg still has resist 10, and if you count my movement as a charge against the chains, the enemy wouldn't get OAs.

Narg shouts at the orcs to move back and hold out their chains, then charges at them without waiting for a reply. The orcs seem confused for a second, then one grunts something loudly and the two orcs nearest to Narg's aprroach raise their arms, wrist extended away from each other. With a loud rasping noise and shower of sparks, Narg's battleaxe slices through the chains of one prisoner (1d20+13+1=23, 1d10+15=20).
Using the momentum of his downswing, Narg shifts his weight and slashes upward with his other axe, slicing through the second orcs wrist chain. As Narg brakes to avoid crashing into the orcs, the now freed arms grab him and pull him close, squeezing him to their chests so that he is just barely outside the corridor.

One of the freed orcs says to Narg in common, "I am Grog, leader of the Great Orcs. Thank you for freeing us." Looking past Grog, Narg sees four three more burly orcs and a duergar with arms as wide as a horse's thigh and a white mustache arcing up both sides of his face. The dark dwarf is also wearing a vile looking mask that pulses with a faint blue glow. Something about these orcs and dark dwarf remind Narg of what his companies related to him about their prior escapades within Thunderspire. He thinks to recall the duergar's name as Urvol (http://deadgoblins.com/topic.php?post=26111#post26111).

OOC: The orcs and duergar have been chained up and doing exactly nothing, aside from staying away from the battle. If you had wanted them to truly step back first then you could have readied your charge for after they stepped back on their turn. Meanwhile, all the gnolls would have gone first though, so I bent the rules a little to allow you to get out of harm's way with the idea you had in mind (hence the squeezing). If you'd like to retcon and still be in the hallway with your readied charge, please let me know.

OOC: The orcs and duergar have been chained up and doing exactly nothing, aside from staying away from the battle. If you had wanted them to truly step back first then you could have readied your charge for after they stepped back on their turn. Meanwhile, all the gnolls would have gone first though, so I bent the rules a little to allow you to get out of harm's way with the idea you had in mind (hence the squeezing). If you'd like to retcon and still be in the hallway with your readied charge, please let me know.

Corydimbiddle reacts quickly to save Anna. He pulls her close, gives her an infusion, the uses his body to guard her from harm. Just as he positions himself in front of her, two crossbow bolts from the turrets fly their way. Both pling harmlessly off the artificers armor. Corydimbiddle once more notices that the bell he is carrying is pulsing in synchronization with the runic circle in this room.

OOC: Great idea Josh! I forgot to send myself the map file, so the map changes will be posted tomorrow. Meanwhile, Azad is up.

With precision, Azad slices through the gnoll hunter's throat before she turns her attention to the leader and another underling. The gnoll leader barks some orders, then withdraws just outside the central corridor. The other gnolls follow suit. One gnoll shoots an arrow at Narg, aim unerring. At the last instant Grog, the leader of the Great Orcs, turns sideways with Narg still in his embrace and takes the arrow in his stead. Grog only grunts mildly at the 15 damage, grinning at Narg. "You freed me. I saved your life. Now we're even." He then orders his free companion to grab a spare axe from Narg to help free the others. In short order, the Great Orcs and Urvol are free of their chains, after which they return the spare axe.

Urvol, still wearing the pulsing mask, exclaims, "So we're free, but in the middle of this deathtrap with gnolls everywhere. I don't suppose it could get any worse." At his words, a distant, echoing sound like that between an eagle's screech and lion's roar comes booming out of the pit in the center of the chamber. And of course the giant boulder continues rolling relentlessly. Azad's shield hampers her as she fails to dodge in time, taking 17 damage and falling down (crit). Edeya too is unable to jump aside, taking 13 damage and falling down.

OOC: Azad gets an opportunity attack vs green for moving away.
