OOC: I also stopped getting my notification emails at gmail about a month before the outage. When I switched to my michris account gmail fetched them. Right now I have my DG account pointed at my gmail. I haven't tried sending DG to michris again since that's been back up and running.

Cachlain tries to pay attention to Mal's words, but can't quite process them. She gazes at Ravenblade's craghammer, and of its own accord, the hammer lands a solid blow on Mal's arm for 16 damage. The queen closes her eyes in concentration, scowls, then floats up, out of her throne and hovers in midair. Her imposing girth floats towards you and then she punches Daggoth in the face for 18 damage.

OOC: I gave, and then took away, Mal's 5 temp HP.

      Floor: The window floor is perfectly safe to walk on. Until Cachlain commands the floor to open, the floorís durability and magical protection keep it intact.
      Doors: The southern door is locked by magic, and only Cachlain or Sovacles can command it to open. The door leading to Cachlainís bedchamber is unlocked and can be opened easily.

"Your majesty," says Hedoni coolly, looking directly at the queen, "I know our people have been enemies for a long time, but you are a fair and just ruler. You must also know in your heart that not all here is as it seems - there are dark forces at work."

With some concentration, he uses the stream of arcane energy all around the chamber to try to turn the queen's mind back toward reality.

The current system has an issue with sending mail from a domain that the site isn't hosted on, and apparently DG sends out "from" the admin address, for which I was using my gmail account. As soon as I switched to a DG email address, it started working. I got the notification from your post - awesome!

Fighting power with power, Hedoni recites countermagic to reverse Sovaclesís enchantment. Salazar's persuasive words seem to annoy Sovacles as much as turn the queen's ear. "Don't listen to them. They are in league with Sangwyr!"

Daggoth's threats have little effect on the queen or her adviser.

The bald human step forward, just under and beside Cachlain. "You are the ones who bring poison to the queen. Take a taste of your own medicine!" Dozens of poisoned darts fly from nowhere. Salazar uses his sudden scales to block the poison, but the rest of you take poison 15 damage, expect for Ravenblade who takes 10. As the poison sinks into your system, you judgement starts to get cloudy (-2 to attack rolls and -5 to skill rolls UENT Sovacles)

Ravenblade studies the room. His keen eyes miss nothing. A massive throne of purple crystal stands on the far side of the room. Cachlain floats in midair, looking you over with her grotesque eyes. Like other fomorians, her body is deformed, and her skin purple and covered in warts. Plates of stone are bonded to her flesh. They look almost like armor and are carved with elaborate designs. Next to the throne is a smaller seat, where Sovacles was sitting. On the floor next to the smaller seat is a magic circle. Ravenblade appreciates the way the arcane sigils are carved into the floor but he can only guess what the circle would be used for. The unique feature of this room is the floor. Giant panes of glassóor maybe smooth crystalóform a window that looks down on an arena far below. Fey gladiators are below, although they seemed to have paused their battle to observe the confrontation above them. (+2 to an ally's next skill roll)

The advisor, clearly angered, yells, ďThe gracious queen invited you into her palace, and you use trickery and deceit to compromise the security of his domain. You aid her great enemy, Sangwyr, and you plot against our brave, wise queen! At every opportunity, youíve allowed them into her majesty's domain and led them in their assault!"

Cachlain cocks her head at Mal and a look of puzzlement crosses her face. You seem to be getting through to her, but then her eyes glaze over again. She eyes Ravenblade suspiciously, and he feels pull back away from the arcane circle (slide 2, force movement reduced by 1). Then the huge fey swats the group with a large purple rock, knocking all except Ravenblade down hard. Murrak is hit especially hard (crit).

Avoiding the mysterious rock, and seeing the cage around Cachlain's mind close to breaking, Hedoni concentrates with all his might to break the connection with Savaclies. "You are a mighty leader, and have ruled fairly for generations. Your connection to your people and your realm is strong, and you know there is something not right in all of this. Lift the fog and see the truth!"

Hedoni's arcane powers allow him break the spell binding Cachlain's will. You gain 6,000 experience from the skill challenge.

The queen's face flashes with surprise and anger, "What is going on here? I will not suffer this manipulation!"

Sovacles reveals his true motives after he realizes he has lost control over the queen. Sovacles snarls angrily, ďYou have no idea who youíre dealing with! My queen has given me the power to destroy you easily! Tiamat will have all that you possess and more, and your blood is my gift to her! And Iím sure Cachlainís replacement will be more amenable to our commands

Cachlain responds quickly, shouting out "Hah! I will never let the god of greed steal what belongs to me." She gestures at the floor and her evil eyes flashe green. Then, the plates of glass flutter away, opening a hole that drops your party, except for Ravenblade, and Sovacles to the gladiatorial arena below. The fall is 40 feet (4d10 falling damage).

In the gladiatorial arena below you, a handful of eladrin gladiators fight an undead treant bound in place with massive cold iron chains. A crowd massed in dozens of cave mouths along the towering walls takes in the bout.

You see Sovacles plummet down and hear his body snap as he hits the purple crystal of the arena floor. The crowd cheers! Just when it appears that the advisorís threat is ended, his body evaporates and forms into a wispy green cloud with smoky wings.
