Geen makes sure to keep the solitaire hidden amongst his belt pouch. He listens for a bit more and then sneaks back to the group. That damned Kurvilis keeps looking at it like it's precious. It's my precious.

"I saw Govaan and the wordbearers. They were examing a dead body. I didn't want to alert them to my presence until you knew what was ahead." says Geen.

Lan notices the silent exchange between Geen and Kurvilis, wondering if he'll need to intervene to prevent infighting. After a while he shrugs. "That's a relief. We could use some friends around here. Let's go join up with them." He puts action to his words and practically vaults up the cliff face and heads towards the voices.

Athletics to climb up on the ledge towards the Wordbearers. (1d20+1+1=22)

OOC: Ready to join with Govaan and the others. Funny how I've been critting on my climbing attempts the last couple times.

As the kalashtar climbs up the cliff face, he looks up to see an arrow pointed at him. A little farther up and he sees a goblin face. Govaan stares for a moment and then breaks out into a smile, "Lan! Let me help." He puts his arm down and helps Lan finish the climb. "So, you guys are alright?" Lan looks around and sees the rest of the Wordbearers now coming out of the shadows.

"Govaan, I thought I felt your presence! I am glad to lay eyes on you. As Khav says, we are mostly whole, but there were moments I was concerned. These aberrant creatures are horrific opponents. What news?"

Yeraa steps forward as the parties meet fully again. "We were successful. We have Lurtaan's Cord, she holds out a belt of braided mithral and gold. We did have our own issues, however." Yeraa gazes downward, and you notice that Jezirpa, one of the soliders that fought in the Amalorkar is not there.

"We were on our way back up through Six Kings to find you and, hopefully, Zaarani's Solitaire." Stepping to the edge of the cliff and looking at the supernaturally bright Moon Pool, "It should be in this room. Have you found it?"

"Ahhhh, yes. Geen has taken quite a liking to the solitaire's pretty shine." says Lan, looking at the Wilden expectantly.

Kurvilis sighs audible with a bit of a stutter as Geen stuffs the pretty thing into his pocket. Why does nobody ever take a gnome with a stutter seriously? Don't his wants matter? He makes a mental note to knock Geen off a cliff someday. Rage, so much rage.

Geen studies Kurvilis and shies away a bit more towards the others. Geen taps his belt pouch, more as a self-reassurance that it is still there and safe.

Geen nods at Lan and then looks at the Wordbearers and gives them a bushy, tree-like smile.

With a flick of his small wrist, Kurvilis causes Geen to slide backward just a bit. As Geen turns to look, the gnome gives him a very small knowing smile. Yes, Geen, I can end you. You know that. I know that. Now keep your bauble... if you dare.

The two groups make their way back through the cave together, mostly in silence. When you get to the cave entrance, it is morning of the day after you got here. The light is bright and it takes some time to adjust as you move closer to the entrance. Once you exit, Yeraa says, "Tikulti, take the others and scout out the area." The Wordbearer leader hangs back. Geen and Lan can tell that she is eager to tell your group something but she waits for the goblinoids to leave hearing distance.

"I must apologize to you. Even after you won the Amalorkar, I did not expect you to be so helpful. You have demonstrated great honor and courage in recovering Zaarani's solitaire. We would be honored if you would join us in searching for Murkoraak's orb in the city of Graywall."

Lan looks at Yeraa for a long while, then bows with his hand over heart in the Dhaakani way. "I would be honored." he tells the Wordbearer leader, intentionally speaking only for himself to allow his companions a chance to voice their acceptance or disapproval of her suggestion. "Although, I must confess that I have no idea where Graywall is. Geography has never been a subject to fend off my sweet dreams." he adds with a wry smile.

Khav draws a blade and holds it out, handle towards Yeraa, in the Shadow Marches gesture of concluding an agreement to fight together - this being a common thing for new acquaintances to have to do in such a wild place. "I would be glad to fight with you by my side. The prowess your tribe showed in the challenge will surely see us to our common goal."

Geen only smiles and then gives an approving nod.

"This is something I'm very interested in. Any expedition with historical importance is something I'm very interested in, especially lost artifacts." says Geen, and he gives the group a smile.

Kurvilis can't help but notice a sly grin on the wilden's face. Only he seems to have saw it.

"Wonderful! We shall leave immediately. There is an airship that should be waiting for us not far from here." Suddenly Yeraa stops talking and looks around.

OOC: Six Kings is in the Graywall Mountains and Graywall is a city in the monster nation of Droaam. You can see that on the map here

Lan senses Yeraa's mood shift and he whips his head around concerned. He looks left, right, up, and down but doesn't discern anything unusual. Nevertheless he can't shake the feeling that Yeraa is concerned about something. "What is it?"

From ahead comes a skittering of loose rock. The ash that defined the Amalorkar circle has mostly blown away. Yeraa quickly draws her sword with a snarl. Shambling up the path before you are five of the Kech Sharaat hobgoblins you fought earlier, their mutilated bodies risen as horrid zombies. In the forefront is the dead Bladebearer leader, a scimitar clutched tight in his bloody hands. He obviously didn't make it very far after surrendering to you.

OOC: Nathan is moving in a couple days and will probably not be available to post for awhile. Does anyone want to take his turns for him?

Kurvilis waits for the battlefield to settle down before making his move. The decaying leader of the hobgoblins ambles forward and swings his scimitar at Sentinel. As the undead creature does so, Geen sees an opportunity and pocks it in the arm (DisStrike on Zombie Naersaar, hit for 14 damage, -6 to this attack). The bolt in its arm nearly throws its aim off, but it still manages to cut Sentinel (8 damage to Sentinel), before it steps back.

OOC: I am trying something new with these arrows to show movement a bit (not sure if it helps or does nothing or clutters things too much). Please let me know if you like it.

OOC: Unless there is a useful gain to having them, it may end up just being extra work for you and cluttered maps for all. How do you intend the arrows to help everyone?

Edit: The initiative doesn't reflect the 8 damage to Sentinel or the leader's new position.

Edit2: Oh, and do you have a pdf on Sentinel you could send me. The link in the initiative list goes to a hijacked wiki page.

Khav ducks down behind Sentinel's right shoulder, then pops back up behind the warforged's left shoulder to hurl a dagger into the undead Chib's unbeating heart.

Move action - Ambush Trick, choosing to remain in place. Until the end of my current turn, I gain CA against any enemies within 5 squares of me that have none of their allies adjacent.

Standard action - Ranged Basic Attack against Zombie Chib Naersaar with dagger, using Backstab and (on a hit) Furious Assault.

Ranged Basic Attack against Zombie Chib Naersaar with dagger, using Backstab and (on a hit) Furious Assault. (CA, BS, 24H, SA, FA, LBE) (1d20+12+2+3+1=30, 1d4+7+2d8+1d6+1d4+1=26)

Hits AC 30 for 26 damage.

The movement arrows are useful if explaining how a monster provoked or avoided an attack or other action from us or terrain features, but probably not necessary if just moving across regular terrain.

Love the OotS zombies.

Khav hangs back and hits the zombie in the head with his dagger (26 damage to Zombie Naersaar, bloodied).
