Ignoring his own damage, Sentinel goes berserk as he sees Kurvilis take a big hit and disappear. Extremely focused on protecting his one true friend, Sentinel destroys one of the last two aberrations (CRIT! Red Spiner for 23 damage, killed).

While Lan waits for a better target, Khav hops, skips and jumps his way into range of the last "living" opponent. His dagger toss at the end is spot on and wounds the aberration (17 damage to orange).

Sensing the imminent danger has been eradicated, there is a rush of confidence and genuine elation at seeing no one killed. He edges forward to the next stalagmite using the shadows and cover to conceal his approach.

Once there, he leans out and fires off two shots towards the last creature. Both bolts sink deep into the wicked creatures flesh, causing the wounds to ooze with thick blood for the first time.

[MOVE] Moves to G5 in stealth : Stealth (1d20+12+1+1=21)
[MINOR] Uses HUNTERS QUARRY on Deathgaunt Spiner (orange)

Kurvilis splutters and spits in a sudden murderous rage as he hurls his will at the last abomination. Seeing it flinch and stumble calms him enough to realize he might die, so he hides behind a stalagmite.

Standard: Phantom Bolt orange spiner, WILL, on a hit slide off the ledge to Q3 and it has -2 att and grants CA Kurv UENT Kurv. If it falls down, please roll the falling damage. (1d20+11+1+2=32, 1d8+11=16)
Move: to i2

OOC: Assuming the last foe is downed, does the group want to extended rest after this battle? I feel we have enough surges to risk another skirmish, but will accede to the majority.

OOC-Not sure if this was brought up before, but we could re-distribute surges via the Comarade's Succor ritual. Anyone have it?

OOC: Khav has one surge, so I'm all for an extended rest.

As for Comrade's Succor, with Kurvilis switching from Wizard to Mage, we now have no ritual casters.

Lan frowns at Geen's eagerness to keep on killing, even at the risk of Khav's life. He shakes the thought away with a jerk of his head, shedding the group's emotions at the same time, and focusing on healing their wounds before even tending to himself.

OOC: This will occur after Geen searches, just in case there's still a threat in the pool or something and we need the thp.

While Lan soothes everyone's injuries, Geen looks around the room. His eyes are immediately drawn to the gem around the madcaster's neck. The wilden grabs it and continues around the room. The only interesting feature happens to be the moon pool. Wading into it, Geen is struck about its unnatural glow. It doesn't seem to have any effects. While in there, Geen seems to find a number of gemstones and coins that appear just tossed in there. He finds 240 GP, a polished amethyst worth 100 GP, and two moonstones carved with intertwining patterns worth 250 GP each.

Geen carries them back to solid ground, and places all the coins & gems upon a cloth from his backpack, drying them as best he can.

He then takes a closer look at the necklace, trying to sense for any magic within.

"Perhaps a wishing pool of sorts." says Geen as he points back to the water. "Traditionally one would offer up a coin for a wish. It was more a gesture of karma, more than getting what you wanted literally. Either way, it is a good find for us. Some of these coins are likely quite old." he finishes.

The necklace itself isn't magical, but Geen can feel the golden gem in the center emanating some kind of power. It feels more and more pleasant the closer Geen gets to Sentinel. The wilden determines that this must be the piece of the Ashen Crown they were looking for, Zaarani's solitaire. As he examines it, he determines that it has its own unique ability.

OOC: Zaarani's Solitaire is a wondrous item with an encounter power: free action when you score a critical hit on your turn; target of the critical hit is slid 2 squares and knocked prone. You gain 175 XP as a party for finding the solitaire.

As you heal up and Geen shows off the various gems he has found you hear voices coming from the cliff that the spiners were at. You cannot make them out from this distance, but they sound intelligible, at least.

Khav, who normally scouts with Geen, hangs back with the others, knowing he can't afford to be caught alone in his current state.

OOC: I'm good to go. My only opinion on the solitaire is that since it triggers on a crit it might be good to have someone who makes a lot of attack rolls use it. In this group, I'd think that'd be Geen or Kurvilis.

Geen nods and looks ahead, stopping to listen first. He motions for the group to be silent as he edges away from them. He carefully moves forward until he can spy a glance at whatever these voices are.

OOC-I'm not too fond of an item that triggers so rarely, but I agree that it should be used by those who attack & often. With my twin strike and others powers as I level, Geen likely has the best %'s of critting...So, I'll keep it unless Kurvilis wants it more.

The voices get a bit quieter as they come near the entrance to the moon pool room above the cliff. Geen listens intently as that party slows down and seemingly is preparing for something.

Then, the wilden hears, a little louder, "This one is dead, recently. Someone has been through here." Geen recognizes the voice as Govaan, the goblin they saved from the Emerald Claw and is a part of the Wordbearers.

OOC-It's been awhile and I don't remember the Wordbearers, although the name is familiar. Is this considered a non-hostile group?

OOC: You met them here, although you met and saved Govaan here. The Wordbearers are after the Ashen Crown, as well, and you have allied with them to recover pieces of it (Sentinel's sword and the solitaire you found are pieces of it). The Wordbearers also gave you a Sending Stone and have communicated with you a few times with it.
