OOC: I think Lan should be at 24 hp. He had 27, got the 7 thp, then was hit for 10.

Seeing Kurvilis slowly having the life drained form him, Sentinel forces his beaten and battered internals into action. With a quick movement of his word, time and space become warped. Suddenly, Lan and Sentinel seem to fold inward, then suddenly vanish... only to stand where the other had previously. With a cry of breaking timbers and rending metal, Sentinel brings his blade down past the nearest lasher, then readies himself for the coming onslaught.

Actions:
Minor: Warforged Resolve, gain 5 THP and heal 5 HP if bloodied
Minor: Dimensional Warp, swap locations with Lan
Standard: Booming Blade against Blue Deathgaunt Lasher (1d20+11=13, 1d8+6=11, 1d6+3=8)
Attack hits AC 13 for 11 thunder damage. On a hit (yeah, right) target takes 8 thunder damage for moving away from Sentinel.

Sentinel concentrates hard on fixing his damage...so hard in fact, that he forgets to look at what he is attacking and whiffs badly (heal 5 HP, gain 5 THP, heal 12 HP, lose 1 surge, +2 def USNT).

"You know what to do." says Lan over his shoulder before he feints at the drover. Khav slips around and stabs the abberation in the liver. "Thank you Khav. You're ever reliable." comments the ardent as he closes his eyes, summoning his fury, and sends some electrical jolts to Sentinel for his damaged circuitry.

Standard: Ire strike drove, Khav's MBA, he shifts to i3 first for flanking. +2 CA, +1 24h, +1 Light blade damage, +1d8 ire strike power. On a hit, drover has vulnerability 6 UENT Lan. (1d20+12+2+1=22, 1d4+7+2d8+1+1d8=25) (forgot to mention it's augment 2)

Lan whispers into Khav's mind as he distracts the drover. This allows the half-orc to get behind the deathgaunt and stab it to death it what might be the kidneys (25 dam to drover, dead). Lan then uses his axes power to start the adrenaline pumping through his veins, allowing him to better help Sentinel (18 HP healed, lose 1 surge, +1 def UENT).

Those tentacles have become a problem. Watching them whip this way and that, Geen takes a careful step backwards. Then again as he fires his crossbow at his quarry. The bolt is true this time, and the lasher shrinks back, possibly dying...

Geen steps behind Khav and launches a bolt at his quarry, piercing its forehead and dropping it to the floor with a clunk (12 damage, killed).

A spiner throws a bone at Sentinel and hits the warforged in the side while he is watching the lasher drop to the ground (14 dam). Meanwhile, the madcaster shrieks as it cannot revive the lasher this time. It focuses once again on Sentinel, trying to invade his mind. However, a combination of the madcaster's distraction with the swordmage's boosted defenses help him resist the urge to attack his allies.

Kurvilis pushes the madcaster back down the stairs into the shadows, where it feels the sting of things pulling at its legs once again (12 dam to Madcaster, slid 2, takes 5 dam from GS zone, slowed UENT, -2 to hit Kurvilis/grant CA to Kurvilis UENT).

As the illusion dissipates, the lasher charges up the stairs and whips Sentinel into its face where it takes a wicked bite out of the warforged's metal and wooden head (13 damage to Sentinel, 5 OGD (SE), marked by Purple UENT). As it does this, a boney spine lands at Sentinel's feet, narrowly missing.

Geen sees the deathgaunts on the other side, but a chance for a kill is something he cannot pass up. He brings his crossbow up and aims it at the madcaster.

His new quarry is unpleasantly surprised by the wildens' accuracy.

  •  Features of the Area
    • Illumination: The glowing pool fills the eastern chamber with bright light and the central cavern (where you are) with dim light. The eastern cavern (back up the cliff) is dark.
      Ceiling: 10 feet high above the western cavern; 20 feet above the central cavern; 30 feet above the eastern cavern
      Cliffs: Cliffs are 10 feet tall and require an Athletics check to climb. They can act as cover terrain.
      Moon Pool: The water glows with residual magic. It is 2 feet deep and is difficult terrain.
      Stairs: The stairs are cracked and crumbling and are difficult terrain.
      Stalagmites: These tapering flowstones can act as cover terrain.

OOC: I saw Gary play for Jonathan's PC in Scales, so hope it's okay to do so here to keep things going. I can't find a statblock for Kuvilis, but here goes.

Move: to K2
Standard: Phantom Bolt red spiner, WILL, on a hit slide off the ledge to Q5 and it has -2 att and grants CA Kurv UENT Kurv. If it falls down, please roll the falling damage. (1d20+11=17, 1d8+11=13)

Kurvilis invades the spiner's mind and walks it right off of the cliff onto the hard stone floor (17 total damage, prone, bloodied). The spiner still on the cliff watches as its last moving ally falls from the cliff and tosses a projectile at Kurvilis, hitting him in the head and then watches as the gnome disappears (14 damage to Kurvilis, activating Fade Away).

Sentinel's battered and crushed outershell flakes and drops reflective parts to the ground as he closes with the nearest hostile. His everburning torch leaves an odd, irridescent path which follows him in his charge to the deathgaunt.

Kurvilis was hurt, and these things needed to be stopped, no matter the personal cost. The world narrowed, and only one thing remained in Sentinel's vision. That thing, that thing from a realm beyond madness and pain was trying to hurt his friend... had hurt his friend. With a terrifying screach of breaking timbers and rending iron, a sound which echoed throughout the cavern, a sound Geen instantly knew was this warforged's true battle cry, Sentinel brought the ancient blade which was forged to kill abominations into a brutal two handed grip and plunged it into the deathgaunt's excuse for a face. Finally, he had mastered this blade. Then he twisted.
