Viktor, please have him be a student. He can just be older, and maybe be more of a TA or something?

Scott, do I have your char sheet? I am still missing Nathan's. I have Viktor's, Gary's, Josh's, and Dan's. Once I have everything, I am good to start, and there will be a period of role-play get to know you up front, so if you aren't completely done with wish-lists and the like, that is ok. Viktor, when you are done with tokens, if you can send them to me, that would be fantastic. Finally, does everyone know what theme you are going to take? That will happen fairly early on, so it would be great if you are all ready on that so it doesn't slow down the game a la level gaining.
I provided my iplay4e link which you can download my dnd4e file and thus, have my character sheet. I don't know how to do the pdf thing that a few of the others have done. As for a theme, I believe either of the noble ones, but there won't be a delay when you green light the themes. I'll know which one at that point in time. As for a character background, I'll see if I can come up with one shortly, and if not, role-play so the others can see what Koliak is about. Trying to keep a veil of mystery for him, perhaps keep him the wild card of the bunch.

A very long time ago, two nations went to war. That was not unusual, but the nations themselves were. These nations were populated by mages who used mechanical servants for nearly all menial tasks including war. No one knows what caused the war, but it quickly became brutal. The mages would lead the constructs into battle, but these warforged were instructed never to attack a living creature. With neither side gaining traction, a young, brilliant wizard created a new type of warforged, one that was not controlled by this edict. The next battle ended quickly, with the general being slaughtered by the one warforged. Both sides escalated the warforged arms race, making them stronger and more resistant to magic, but always willing to obey orders. Within a few short years all of the mages had been killed and the nations were gone, barely having left a lasting mark on the world.

One of these battles occurred high in a mountain pass. One of the warforged had become injured and powered down in the snow. After a few centuries, the snow had packed into a glacier freezing the warforged in place. A few more centuries would pass before anyone saw him again. The summers were getting warmer and the glacier would recede enough that the mechanical man could be seen once again. The local villages told stories of the strange beast-man locked up during the winter that would kidnap bad children during the summer. Boys would test their manhood by walking right up to the machine and look him in the eyes, suspended in the ice. Every year, the glacier would expand once again and the warforged would disappear in the middle.

Some men who had heard rumors of a beast-man in the mountains came to the glacier, seeking another recruit. They waited for the warmest day of the year, with the ice just a few inches thick around the warforged. They hacked at the glacier until he was released. A cleric stepped forward and healed him. "We are taking you to a place to train." The warforged simply followed.

Once at the Shadow Tower, the teachers found the machine to be not quite what they expected. It complied with all instructions, though it did not seem to understand everything. It did not speak much, and then only briefly. It's best skill was to chase after an opponent and hit it until it dropped to the ground. It was hard to control once it began its attack and only ever grabbed large hammers as weapons. The thing itself was a weapon to be used and the teachers saw that quickly, but they needed to figure out how best to use it. They called him Hammer.

One day, a new student, a tiefling, a creature that Hammer well recognized from the war was being pushed around a bit and obviously in distress. Hammer charged in and beat the snot out of the bullies, with only the instructors stopping him from killing them. The tiefling realized very soon that he could order Hammer around. Tchort decided to use Hammer as his muscle. The instructors at the school also found that it became more and more difficult to order Hammer around as he listened more and more to Tchort. At the same time, the warforged became more capable in combat, almost inspired by the tiefling.

I came up with a lot more detailed of a background than I had planned. I basically had decided I wanted him to be stuck in a glacier and had to get from there to saving Tchort.

I don't know how well it'll translate into a PBP game. I've trying really hard to be evil while leaving good reasons for him to actually band with the party. The Devil's Pawn theme looks best, if only for the added bonus to diplomacy when dealing with really nasty creatures.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but you can now add house feats and powers directly from the online builder. There is an orange dog house symbol near the top of the screen when you're on the feat or select powers screens. Press that, and you get a new feat or power to run with.

I made a few modifications to the character sheet, namely I changed from chain to leather armor. I have 1 AC lower, but I'm faster and don't take a skill penalty. It fits much better with the character. With Jon's permission, I might switch from wand expertise to versatile expertise if I go swordmage, and I might change from 13 dex to 13 wis if I decided I want different multiclassing from what I'm imagining.

As always, feel free to make changes like that (within reason), but if they are major (ability scores and such), let's find a way to do so within the context of the game. The most important thing, though, is for you to be happy with the character you play.

Viktor, whenever you have the tokens done, please send them my way, and I think we may be good to go.

It's pick your Corvan time!

Let's pick a color we like. I'm partial to Azure and White (lighter colors) since all our PC pics are dark and the contrast looks nice.

I sent Jon my wishlist already, but I have an expanded one that I will put here:

Vanguard Maul +1 (level 3) - +1d8 dam on a charge (plus a daily effect I don't care either way about)

Bestial Hide Armor +1 (level 3) - Daily MBA after a charge w/+2 attack bonus

Iron Armbands of Power (level 6) - +2 dam to all melee attacks

Boots of Adept Charging (level 2) - Shift 1 sq after completing charge

Horned Helm (level 6) - +1d6 dam on a charge

Badge of the Berserker +1 (level 2) - charge movement doesn't provoke OAs

Belt of Feral Might (level 3) - gain Str mod (+4) to Rageblood THP gained (increasing it to 12)

Giantkind Gloves (level 4), Twice-Clawed Gauntlets (level 4), Gauntlets of Ogre Power (level 5), or Rampaging Slayer's Gloves (level 6) - each of these increase dam in different ways.

By the time I have the weapon, Iron Armbands, Boots, and Horned Helm, I will be dealing something like 2d6+1d6+4+1d8+1d6+2 damage on my Howling Strike charge (before all of that stuff, it will just be 2d6+1d6+4 dam), plus any dam modifier bonuses I accrue.

I vote for the color of spilled blood. Wish list will be forthcoming. I need to figure out if I'm going swordmage and using a weapliment or not to properly pick a weapon. We'll see if the added THP are needed by level two or not.

The votes thus far from Viktor, Gary, Josh, and Nathan:

Red: 3
Azure: 2
Nickel: 1
White: 1
Platinum: 1
Cracked: 1

Seems that Red and Azure are the front-runners. Red (aka "spilled blood") would give things more of an evil tone, while Azure provides more of a color contrast. Let's see what Daniel and Scott choose.

Alright, with Daniel's selections, red gets a total of 4 votes and the next runners up (Azure, Nickel) only 2. Therefore, no matter what Scott prefers red will be it. Or rather, Bloodred.....mwa-ha-ha-hah! (sorry).

Jon, I'll finalize the tokens tonight or tomorrow. Please don't feel you need to delay the intro story and beginning character interactions for this if you're all geared up to get started.
