Emyn's presence eases Geron's and Berna's wounds. The spirit then blinks over near the more wounded lizardfolk and tries to take the creature down. Allena takes advantage of the distraction to provide Berna an opening.

Minor action - Healing Spirit, allowing Geron to spend a surge and heal surge + 4 HP, and Berna to heal 1d6 = Healing Spirit Berna (1d6=6) = 6 HP.

Minor action - Re-summon Emyn to G17.

Standard action - Voice of Battle on Red.

VoB Red (Bloodhunter totem) (1d20+7+1=24, 1d6+5=7)

Hits Will 24 for 7 psychic damage. If this kills Red, shift Allena to F18, which gives Berna a flanking partner for her next attack. If Red survives, Allena will shift to F17 to provide Berna's flanking.

OOC: I IMed with Emily. She didn't include the +2 for CA in her attack roll, so the result it actually 18 vs AC for 19 damage.

Berna finds nothing of interest on the corpses, so she walks over to the pit to take a look down. She sees a very narrow, crumbling step carved into the side of the pit wall, and several feet further down, another, followed by a small landing. She guesses that these crude steps probably lead all the way to the bottom.

OOC: Gary, let me know if Ered wants to take a surge. Getting to the bottom of the stairs requires a DC 12 Athletics, Endurance, or Acrobatics check. A failed check results in a save vs falling, a failure of which results in falling 10 feet to the next landing, then repeating the process, to a max of three landings. However, one successful check will navigate the entire stairway.

Once everyone is ready, Geron takes the lead down the staircase using his strength of body, more than sure footing, to get down safely. He tries to point out any unstable spots to those that follow.

OOC: Geron has 12 endurance so I suppose that he automatically succeeds at going down the staircase. He has dungeoneering 7, so maybe that allows him to point out structurally safe places to step on to the others.

Geron hardly feels any strain on his knees making his way down the crude staircase.

OOC: That is correct; there is no need to roll. As for the dungeoneering, I will allow that, with a DC of 16, giving a +1 to all check rolls for the party. No penalty for a failure, but multiple successes from multiple characters do not stack.

"See where the stone looks discolered and is darker compared to the lighter, sandy colored patches. That's actually misleading. You may think that a dark, more uniformly colored stone is solid, but it's actualy dark from moisture seeping into the tiny pores of rock. It's the light colored patches that are best to step on, since they're dry." Geron offers helpfully.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, you find yourselves in a dimly lit chamber. The only light is from two nearly burnt out braziers on the northern side of the room. Looking around, you can make out that you are in what likely is a barracks. A few beds are scattered around, along with some tables and chairs. One round table has remnants of a meal on it. At the foot of each bed is a small footlocker. Two ornate washbasins, leftovers from the time this was used as a Temple of Moradin, sit against the northern wall, an open double door between them.

The more striking feature, however, is the crowd of lizardfolk that was apparently waiting for you. Four smaller green ones have your party and the rubble you are standing in surrounded, and very large black lizardfolk with huge clubs stand between you and the door. One of these seems slightly better armored than the other (yellow), wearing full hide armor. The greens all hold javelins and small shields. Next to each of the behemoth lizardfolk is a reptile with long daggerlike teeth and stubby wings. These hiss viciously at your arrival, the sound echoing off the walls of the room making it as loud as an entire hive of giant wasps.

OOC: Please see below regarding lighting. Em, all creatures are medium or larger.

Features of the Area
Light:
The entire room is in dim light, except for a burst 1 around each brazier. Any creature outside of that burst has concealment against any creature that does not possess low-light vision.
Beds and Tables: The beds (with footlockers) and tables take up the entire square(s) they are in. They do not block line of sight or effect.
Braziers: The braziers are firmly implanted in the ground and cannot be knocked over.
Rubble: The squares E-H 11-12 are rubble from the collapsing stairs and are difficult terrain.

Strategically minded, oboro decides it would be best to remove the weakest foes first. Without moving she invokes ilmater's radiant hand to strike. She guesses the javelin throwers seem most vulnerable and targets them along with a single smaller green lizard.

Standard action:hand of radiance against orange, green, and purple.
Wis +8 vs Ref orange, green, and purple: (1d20+8=20, 1d20+8=26, 1d20+8=15)

Dmg: (1d4+7=8)
