Saphiro looks at Etherra as she comments about him just before displaying a singular control of forceful movement herself."You also are not such a...moveover...yourself." he responds to the wizard women, struggling to find the correct expression.

OOC: Nathan, I might be messing up the damage rolls. Gary and I started discussing how charbuilder doesn't seem to calculate/add the bonuses correctly for superior implements together with magical weapons (see Delve #7 Plans thread / posts 56, 57, 58). In Saphiro's case, only the +2 damage from the Orb of Nimble Thoughts shows in charbuilder, but the +2 extra damage from the petrified superior implement feat when using Force keyword powers is ignored. I simply added it to my rolls, figuring a damage bonus from a magical item and a damage bonus from a feat should stack. I don't know if this is correct.

Zach, I think the restrained ogre (blue) will be unrestrained at the end of your current turn. However, if you manage to teleport blue into the grasping shadows, it will be slowed I think. That would make all three ogres slowed, so if you put them as close to the north wall as possible, they can only move 2 spaces and then charge 2 spaces. If I'm envisioning the map correctly, only one would actually be able to engage us then. BTW, which power allows you to teleport them? Does it depend on hitting?

The power is Twist of Space (encounter power) and an attack roll is needed to hit each one. I can enlarge it and get the 3 ogres and the 1 orc. You are right about restrained ending, so I would put him into the grasping shadows, thus slowing him like the others. The other 3, I was gonna move as far to the left corner as possible.

-Twist of Space
-You bend and fold the fabric of space, scattering your enemies across the battlefield.

-Encounter Arcane, Implement, Teleportation
-Standard Action Area burst 1 within 10 squares
-Target: Each creature in burst
-Attack: Intelligence vs. Will
-Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence modifier damage, and the target is teleported 3 squares and slowed until the end of your next turn

Also, the ChrBuilder is also messing up my damage calcs. I've been adding a +2 to all rolls, because it is NOT incorporating my Dual Implement Caster feat properly, which allows me to add my implement off-hand bonus to all rolls.

OOC: Sorry about the delay. I had to present at group meeting today, and I mismanaged my time a tad before hand ;) Viktor, I was just spot checking modifiers, and I just couldn't quite figure things out. I'm fine with granting the damage bonuses; it lets me not feel so bad about throwing extra monsters at you all :P I've certainly encountered a few weird issues with the CB when min/maxing to the extreme with my ridiculous bugbear, so I understand there are modifier issues.

If everyone interested has chimed in on Etherra's proposed actions, can I get a solid additional action if you decide to use an AP? Fort 23 does hit, so consider all your force movement applied when you make a decision.

Etherra continues her assault, which she considers it one, and tries to twist time & space against the ogres & the orc.

The area near all the ogres and the lone orc starts to get windy and the air seems to almost vibrate. A light forms in the center, and an other-worldly portal opens up for an instant. The ogres & the orc blink out of existence for a brief second, before re-materializing some distance away. One of the ogres seems to re-materialize a bit too low and has his feet stuck in the sand, atleast for the moment.

Etherra feels much safer now...

ACTION POINT-STANDARD Enlarged Twist of Space: To hit: Blue Ogre, Red Ogre, Green Ogre, Purple Orc / Damage (-2 enlarge) *Use 1st damage roll only (1d20+10+1=16, 1d6+6-2=5, 1d20+10+1=22, 1d6+6-2=5, 1d20+10+1=31, 1d6+6-2=7, 1d20+10+1=23, 1d6+6-2=5)

Blue Ogre: Will 16 | 5 dmg | teleport to corner G-6 to D-6
Red Ogre: Will 22 | 5 dmg | teleport to corner H-4 to E-3
Green Ogre: Will 31 (critical hit) | 10 dmg | teleport to corner K-2 to H-1 | due to critical, my Earthroot Staff also immobilizes target (listed below) (If I can teleport 5, then move it to G-1
Purple Orc: Will 23 | 5 dmg | teleport to E-6 (If I can teleport 5, then move it to C-5)

Twist of Space
Encounter - Arcane, Implement, Teleportation
Standard Action Area burst 2 (enlarged) within 10 squares
Target: Each creature in burst
Attack: Intelligence vs. Will
Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence modifier damage, and the target is teleported 3 squares and slowed until the end of your next turn.

Q-I have Glowering Wrath active, which allows forced movement to increase by 2 squares. Does that count w/ forced teleportation? If so, I can move them 5 squares each. If yes, then just move them further left on the map, as far from Etherra as possible.

---------------------------
Earthroot Staff
This staff is as light as wood, but it seems to be made of earth and stone with a fine crystal atop it. It can bind your enemies to the earth and protect you against the same.
Level: 8
Price: 3,400 gp
Implement (Staff)
Enhancement: +2 attack rolls and damage rolls
Critical: The target is restrained until the end of your next turn
Property: Any target you immobilize, petrify, slow, or restrain through an attack using this implement takes a -2 penalty to the first saving throw it makes against that condition.

OOC: The entry on forced movement only seems to apply on a push/pull/slide event, though I could see the rules adopted for teleportation. I'm going to just go by the book, which has forced movement as a sub-tab under push/pull/slide events. If someone wants to provide something that confirms one way or the other, we can go with that. Gary? I know that there were some Cust Serv responses along these lines somewhere,

With a wave of sound, Etherra knocks the ogre that had struck her halfway across the room, into her conjured shadow hands. Then, she warps space-time with an effect that finds half the combatants thrown to the far sides of the room. Oddly, it's the battered ogre that seems to resist her arcane powers this time. Then, thankfully from the ogre perspective, the grasping hands subside, even if their effect has not.

OOC: I thought Blue was still cursed. One of blue or black should still be, since only 1 point was added to the darkspiral aura, the other used to spread.

OOC-Also, as a friendly reminder, as there has been alot posted in the last couple actions, Etherra also put 'mystical debris' in J-6. This space becomes difficult terrain. I can have up to 4 such spaces, each using up a minor action to create.

OOC: Jon, I'll explain my reading of the rules, and you can let me know if I'm correct, wrong, misunderstanding your desired actions, or we're at odds. My ruling of your curse was this: I ruled that you triggered your bloodied boon feat option when blue was bloodied "You can choose to gain your pact boon when an enemy you curse is first bloodied. If you do so, you remove your curse from that enemy", and used your rod of corruption power to "transfer your warlock's curse to each enemy within 5 squares of the original target." When the pact boon is triggered via your feat, the curse vanishes from the original target, which is why I have blue without a curse. Then, when the orc was bloodied, I had you trigger your normal pact bonus, which removes the curse from the orc and gives you a Darkspiral Aura point.

mystical debris retconed in like i never made a mistake ;)

Kelleth swears to Erathis that the orc next to him shall no longer be a threat to civilized folks. He then moves to surround the brute with, well... another brute in Hulk. But at least Hulk seems somewhat rational.

In any case, the githzerai then swings his fullblade at the orc, landing a solid blow that leaves an opening for Hulk to exploit.

Minor action - Oath of Enmity on Black.

Move action - Shift to I10.

Standard action - Leading Strike against Black.

Leading Strike Black (Oath, CA, 24H) (1d20+13+2+1=19, 1d20+13+2+1=20, 1d12+10=22)

Hits AC 20 for 22 damage, and on a hit, Hulk gains a +4 bonus to his next damage roll against Black.

  •  Kelleth D'zathis
    • Male Githzerai Avenger 7
    • Passive Perception: 22, Passive Insight: 17, Senses: Normal
    • AC: 24, Fort: 18, Reflex: 20, Will: 20 - Speed: 6
    • HP: 68/68, Bloodied: 34, Surge Value: 17, Surges left: 9/9
    • Action Points: 1
    • Resists: None

    • Defended Mind (Race): +2 racial bonus to saving throws against effects that daze, dominate, or stun.
    • Censure of Retribution (Class): When any enemy other than his Oath of Enmity target hits Kelleth, he gains a bonus to damage rolls against his Oath of Enmity target equal to his Intelligence modifier (+4) until the end of his next turn. This bonus is cumulative.
    • Avenging Resolution (Feat): When Kelleth attacks a target of his Oath of Enmity with a weapon attack, treat all rolls of a 1 or 2 on the damage dice as though the result were a 3 on the die.

    • Powers
    • -Leading Strike
    • -Overwhelming Strike
    • -Aspect of Agility
    • -Channel Divinity - Abjure Undead or Divine Guidance
    • -Halo of Fire

    • -Stoneskin Cloth Armor +2 - Power (Encounter): Minor Action. You gain 5 temporary hit points until the end of the encounter.

OOC: Both black and blue were bloodied in the same attack, so it would play as follows: resolve black first, adding a point to the aura, then resolve blue, which would transfer the curse back to black. Yes?

OOC: Jon, hack and hew is actually two separate attacks in the power description: one attack with an effect to make a second.

With a purposeful stride, Kelleth sends the orc to wherever it is dead orcs go.

Injured and frustrated, the ogre furthest from the action (green) shouts several commands in some archaic form of giant. Before Hulk can process and warn the party, the two remaining orcs attack in unison. While the downed orc climbs to its feet, the other orc sprints across the battlefield. Then, they both draw hand-axes from their belts and hurl them at the wizard that's caused so much trouble so far. Unfortunately for Etherra, the orc axes mange to hit home (yellow for 9 and purple for 7 damage) despite Hulk's best effort at trying to knock one aside with his weapon. Bolstered by his companions' success, the ogre facing Hulk rising to his feet and delivers a nasty swipe from his club. Despite his bulk, Hulk has to take a half step to keep his balance as the greatclub firmly smashes against his mail (9 to temp HP, 5 resisted for stone's endurance gives 4 total damage).

OOC-I forgot that when I spend an AP, my demonskin tattoo comes into play: Property: When you spend an action point to take an extra action, choose acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. You gain resist 5 to the chosen damage type until the end of the encounter.

Will you allow me to put this on now? I wouldn't have come into play yet. If yes, I choose Thunder Resist 5 till end of encounter.

---------------------------------

Etherra cannot dodge either handaxe, and feels the blood flowing freely from her wounds. 'Seems their ire is being directed at me.' thinks Etherra. All these big brutes and they always pick on me. Emphasize on 'always'.

Gotta find a safer spot for a bit, before I unleash my next big wave.

[MOVE] Etherra moves to K-12.

[MINOR] Creates another area of difficult terrain using Mystical Debris. Place debris at K-6.

[STANDARD] Uses her -Second Wind- : 12 Hp's healed, -1 surge, and +2 to all defenses SonT.

"C'mon big boys! Can't you give a lady in helping hand? What kind of protection are you giving?" says Etherra sarcastically, hoping to anger her companions, as that in turn, she is hoping, will make their attacks that much more deadlier...

OOC: I think I accidentally simply failed to update the actual person active in the queue. In post 55, I resolve Etherra's thunderwave attack, followed by her action point use of twist of space. In post 59, Gary takes Kelleth's turn, which I resolve in post 61. Post 61 also includes Ogre Savage green, Orc Raider yellow, Orc Raider purple, and Ogre savage blue. That should have left us at Grim's turn, but I didn't update the initiative arrow in my textfile, effectively skipping 1/3 or so of the combatants. Technically, I missed it last turn too, but I changed it in the browser right before posting. I've just stripped the arrow out of my status textfile, and I'll have to remember to put it in after each resolved turn from here on. That should help prevent confusion if I forget it.

I'll let the demonskin tattoo trigger, so Etherra now has resist 5 thunder UEtE. We can just put the turn for Etherra into teh quoue and use it when it comes up. I don't see the red ogre closing and threatening her while slowed. Sorry about this all. Please take pity, I'm new and some people decided to be super effective in spamming out marks, slowed conditions, prones, resists, etc about :D

It's all good ;)

As for red ogre, that's the idea as far as Etherra is concerned. Keep them from getting to me and my allies.

Furthermore, when my turn comes, can you place the 2nd mystical debris at K-7, instead of the square I listed in my above post? Thanks.

You're doing a fine job ;)

With malice in his eyes, Grim marks an ogre yet again for destruction, then unleashes a nasty blast of negative energy. That blast manages to seriously impair each of his targets. One orc (purple) looks close to dropping form his wounds.

"Hulk getting angry! Ogre think Hulk punching bag. Hulk show ogre!" Hulk walks past the ogre for some reason, seeming to dare the ogre to attack. Then, he suddenly turns and runs between the ogre and an orc and swings his maul wide, letting it collide with as many bones as possible. "Now what ogre think of Hulk?!?!"

Move Action: Walk (Move speed) to F8

Standard Action: Hydra Charge to F5 (Close burst 1; +13 vs. AC; Hit: 2d6+9 dam, 4 temp HP, -2 to attack UENT; Crit: 21+2d6 dam, 4 temp HP; Can use on a charge)

Hydra Charge (+13 W, +1 24hr, +1 charge) (1d20+15=30, 1d20+15=29, 1d20+15=34, 2d6+9=18)

OOC: Hulk maintains his resist 5 all damage until the end of this turn (which is important). Walk to F8, drawing OA from Blue Ogre, then charge to F5, drawing OA from Purple Orc (and Blue Ogre if it didn't attack me). Hit Red Ogre AC 30, Blue Ogre AC 29, Purple Orc AC 34 for 18 damage each (54 total damage, probably). Each I hit also has -2 to hit until end of Hulk's next turn. As long as I hit one, I get 4 temp HP. Mark all three.

OOC: I had incorrectly tallied Ogre Blue's hitpoints after Grim's attack. It was down 84 hitpoints before Hulk's turn.

Angered with a bruised ego more than a bruised skin, Hulk brazenly moves past the ogre he's been dueling with to get a better angle for his next attack. His action leaves an opening, and the ogre takes full advantage by landing a true, if slightly muted, blow (8 damage reduced to 3) to the goliath's toughened body. As Hulk then races past the ogre and an orc, the orc seems caught off guard. Unable to ready its greataxe, the orc simple makes a wild swing with its handaxe. With a faint metallic clang, the goliath's armor easily turns the blade. While the orc examines the new notch on his blade, Hulk finishes his charge into the fray and lets out with a wide savage swing. The arc takes his maul into each nearby enemy (all attacks hit). The last thing that passes through the orc's mind is Hulk's maul on it's way to an ogre chest. Drawing their attention while subsequently disheartening the enemies, Hulk stands tall in the mist of the throng and notes that the Ogre he had been dealing with looks ready to fall over anytime.

Finally, the ogre Hulk charged to seems almost happy. Despite the puny human's best efforts, it would have something to smash... His huge club strike is deflected by the fine dwarven mail, but deflected into Hulk's head for 18-4 damage. (Attack exactly hit with the debuff, sorry Josh.)

Saphiro mentally projects another forceful hammer at two ogres before shifting back again.

Standard: 1d20+11+1=29, 1d20+11+1=21, 1d6+9=13 Force Hammer, augment 2, area burst 1 centered on H5, vs blue ogre and red ogre
Move: shift one to L12, grants +1 AC/REF due to boots equipped

OOC: Force hammer hits blue 29 vs FORT and hits red 21 vs FORT, does 13 force damage and knocks prone on a hit. Shifting to L12 again grants Saphiro +1AC/REF.
